Hey there!
We have finally arrived at the last of the Papertrey Group Posts for this month! Today, it's all about the nativity! Betsy has designed a gorgeous Petite Places: Nativity collection for this month that just happens to pair beautifully with a whole set of religious themed Christmas sentiments I have coming out, called O Holy Night. You've been getting peeks at the sentiments all week, but today, you'll get to see lots more when you visit the whole team! Betsy has also designed some companion dies that you're going to love, that will allow you to make your own 3-D ornaments, place card holders and more! Let's get right to the projects!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on September 15 at 10pm EST.
Firstly, I used her new Petite Ornament: Square Dies along with the new Petite Places: Nativity stamps and dies to create this little ornament!
The ornament die comes with the piece that makes the box as well as the border you see at the bottom of the ornament and a solid rectangle. You cut out two pieces of each, and when you pop them together, you get this darling little box! The solid rectangle is optional, but I chose to use it as a backer inside the box so that I had a little backdrop for my nativity scene. If you look back one photo, you can even see that that's where I put my little angel -- she's adhered to the back wall of the ornament.
I've included several photos from different angles here, so hopefully you can see all the little pieces that are included in my scene. These little guys are tricky to photograph! Ha!
I also created a super simple pair of gift tags that you could easily mass produce and in any color combo you'd like. I paired a few of the images from Petite Places: Nativity with the "Away in a manger..." sentiment from O Holy Night.
I used all the same elements....just stamped them in fresh snow on the pure poppy tag and in pure poppy on the white tag.
For the coordinating card, I used the new Scene It: Bethlehem dies, to create the 3 layers of Bethlehem scenery/trees/sky and then used the Petite Places: Nativity dies and stamps to add the nativity at the front of the card.
The little white border is the same one from the ornament above -- it's part of the Petite Ornament: Square die collection.
I also added a sentiment from O Holy Night, to the front of the card with white embossing powder, as well as one on the inside of the card....
I've got another O Holy Night card for you below...
For this one, I paired it with Year of Flowers: Poinsettia and did some watercoloring with my Zig clean color real brush markers! (links below)
The sentiment is, of course, one from O Holy Night. I love that these are large enough for the front OR the inside of your cards!
I had a lot of fun watercoloring these big gorgeous flowers!
Next up is a Deck the Halls card! For this one, I stamped the bow on a tag sale die cut, inking the wreath up first with hawaiian shores ink and then sponging tropical teal around the edges.
The sentiment is one from Deck the Halls and the papers in the background are from Betsy's new Holiday Folk mini kit.
Here's a fun wedding card for you -- another one that is a bit tricky to photograph because of how shiny it is in real life! I used the Enclosed: Bell dies and stamps here and stamped the "Joy" sentiment right over the top of the die cut, with versamark ink. The result is a SUPER shiny finish! See below.... haha!
The photo is dark so that you can see that shine on the sentiments!
Last one for today.....this one pairs Tucked In: Get Well with Keep It Simple: Surgery as well as Enclosed: Leaf from last month, for a thoughtful card that could work for a guy or a gal.
The leaf was cut from watercolor card stock and I used my Zig markers and a water brush to add the watercolor. Once it had dried, I stamped the Tucked In: Get Well sentiment. The Keep It Simple: Surgery sentiment was stamped repeatedly on the card base with kraft ink, for a great text-y background!
All righty, that's it for me today, but my sweet friends have lots more to share with you so bop around and check them out!
