Hi there!
Happy December to you! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I can't believe Christmas is just around the corner! It's also a very exciting day here at the McVey Ranch (we don't really live on a ranch)....it's firewood delivery day! It's one of the most wonderful days of the year, because it means we can officially commence with fires in our fireplaces and that makes me super happy! Ahhh.....I can almost smell the wood smoke now! Heehee.
It's a fun day at Papertrey Ink too, because the first of the month, means it's time for another Senior Design Team Challenge! This month, we're focusing on the Two Feet Deep stamp set designed by Nichole Heady. This set makes me think of all sorts of fun things that you can do in the snow and while working on these assignments, I remembered the time my family went sledding at the local park. It had a really steep hill, so it was perfect. There were just some trees you had to dodge, but other than that, it was awesome! Apparently we weren't the only ones that liked it there though......a bunch of geese clearly liked it too because when I sled to the bottom of the hill and dodged the trees, I fell off the sled and landed in a pile of goose droppings! I can still hear my family laughing hysterically! LOL! Ahhh....good times. Haha!!
So for this first card, I sponged a bit of raspberry fizz and melon berry ink on some white linen card stock and then splattered it with some water droplets. When those were dry, I stamped some mini snowflakes from Two Feet Deep, as well as the sentiment.
I cut another piece of white card stock with the Scene It: Basic Backer Die and popped the panel up on the card front, with foam adhesive. I topped it with a die cut sled and some skis, as well as the cute little sprig of greenery.
For this card, I decided to stick to a red and white theme, so the skis and sled got stamped in pure poppy ink with dark chocolate accents.
I used two of the snowflakes from Two Feet Deep, to create the wintery background pattern and then topped everything with a sentiment strip featuring two of the sentiments from the set.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go watch for the firewood delivery guy! Eeee!! ;)
Be sure to visit my teammates to see their wintery projects! And if you have this set, bust it out, for Pete's sake! You never know what great memories will come to mind while you're stamping! Haha!
