Hi there!
We have one more Papertrey Group Post for you this week, and this one is a bit of a surprise, because we're showcasing a new set of stitching dies by Erin Lincoln, called Coin Purse II! The fun thing about these dies, is that you can create coin purses with a fold-over flap, OR you can create little drawstring bags like you see here! This is seriously one of my favorite felt projects I've ever made. Not only was it EASY to make, but it came together so beautifully! ALSO, you can decorate these little bags any way you want, so I used my new Bold Blossoms dies, to add felt flowers and leaves to the front of the little bag!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on January 15 at 10pm EST.
Here are a few pictures......Erin has a video to show you how to make the bag, but it's simply two die cut pieces of felt stitched together and then threaded with ribbon. Embellish however you'd like!
The little ribbon loops are wide enough to fit the widest ribbons from Papertrey (grosgrain and swiss dot), but I used the satin here, just because it's so soft and pliable.
I used a contrasting color of thread at the top for a bit of detail and interest.
As for those Bold Blossoms flowers, I die cut all the pieces from felt, stacked them up and stitched them together with a little star pattern in the centers. Then, I hot glued them and the leaves to my bag front. Easy peasy! You could make these bags for any occasion.....so darn cute!
Next, I wanted to show you that the new Bold Blossoms coloring papers can be colored and then die-cut to create bookmarks (as seen here) or even gift tags! I used one of the watercolor papers to create this bookmark. Once the watercolor was dry, I simply die cut it with one of the Basic Bookmark dies! (Sorry for the dark photos -- those reds were freaking my camera out!)
And in case you were worrying about whether the watercolor bled thru to the back side, here's the back of that same bookmark....
As you can see, it's totally white and there was no bleed-through. The watercolor paper that these coloring sheets are printed on, is pretty heavy-duty and of great quality.
Ok, one more card for you before I go.....
Gosh, this card is a simple one to make, but it's pretty striking, I think. I simply sponged five ink colors on a piece of white card stock and die cut the Enclosed: Butterfly and then adhered the die cut frame on top. Then, I stamped two of the companion sentiments from Enclosed: Butterfly with smokey shadow ink.
I trimmed down one of the silver luxe polka dotted sheets and popped it on a white card base! Such a fun card, but very little effort!
You'll want to be sure to visit each of my teammates today, to check out their coin purse inspiration!
