Hey there! Ok, you guys, I have to say that I'm so excited about today's new products! My friends have sure designed some amazing new stamp sets and I can honestly say that I had so much fun making these cards! Flowers! And birds! LOVE! Let's get right to it, shall we?
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on February 15 at 10pm EST.
This first card was created with the Tulip Time stamp set by Betsy Veldman. Let me just interject that I have a soft spot in my heart for tulips, particularly bright pink ones. For our wedding, I carried a bundle of bright pink tulips with my white dress, and my girls carried white tulips with their bright pink dresses. So choosing colors for this card was a no-brainer. :)
There are shading images for each flower, which make it sooooo easy to add layers of color and get stunning results. I stamped mine with raspberry fizz bases, topped with pure poppy shading and then autumn rose. The sentiment is also from Tulip Time. I kinda want to just keep this card on my desk in the studio for awhile, to brighten things up a bit! It makes me smile!
Next up, is a new set by Nichole Heady, called Spring Woods. It's a much-anticipated follow-up to Winter Woods which came out a few months ago and is much loved! There's also a coordinating paper pad, and I used one of those sheets as my background here. The sentiment is also from Spring Woods.
I stamped the flowers in hibiscus burst and pure poppy. For the bird, I went with berry sorbet, hibiscus burst and pure poppy. If you're someone who always sees things very literally and has a hard time thinking outside the box when it comes to color, let me just say that there is something so freeing about not caring one iota what color something is "in real life"! Haha! Just like all the blue flowers I colored yesterday, I approached this bird in the same manner. Yes, I know this was designed to be a specific species of bird, but I didn't think about that at all. I just went with whatever colors I was in the mood for and I'm thrilled with the results! Don't be afraid to let your hair down when playing with color! It's fun!
One more for today.....for this one, I used Maile Belles' new Splits: Just a Note stamp set and die. This is a new monthly series by Maile, featuring a split frame and sentiment and in this case, there are a couple other little images in the set, one of which, I used to create this background. I stamped each little image four times, twice with hawaiian shores ink and twice with new leaf ink, thus creating a little diamond patterned medallion.
The sentiment and frame were stamped on the Splits: Just a Note die cut, with hawaiian shores and new leaf inks.
I'm off for now, but I'll be back tomorrow for more Countdown fun! For today, you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady for lots more peeks and to see which of the other designers have posts to share today!
