Hey Friends!
So today, we're introducing the newest Make It Market mini kit by Betsy Veldman, called Color Pop Florals. I have to say, I think this is my favorite mini kit yet. Maybe it's because it's flowers! Haha! All I know is it's a cute one!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on February 15 at 10pm EST.
The kit has a stamp set, dies that include this pretty "Celebrate today" die and some pretty, coordinating papers. There is also a set of stencils that were designed to be used alone or together, to allow you to layer on the color! They're fun! I'll show you what I made with the stencils in a minute.
First, I used this lovely gray paper from the kit....it's got white spaces for the flowers, already built in. So you can just stamp in the open spaces and your flower placement has already been figured out for you. Or, you can do what I did here....I die cut and stamped the flowers and then adhered them right over the top of those spaces, so I could add dimension where I wanted it.
I also just want to interject that I love this gorgeous gray Betsy used on some of the papers. All of the papers are various neutrals (black, brown, gray, etc) and you add the pops of color with the flowers. But I just love that this gray is a nice medium tone....a bit darker than soft stone.
Ok, so for this card, I used the stencils to stencil on the main flower shapes and leaves, and then used the images from the stamp set to add the details on top. To use the stencils, I laid them on the paper and just sponged the ink over the top, with an ink blending tool. It went super fast! I used aqua mist on the flowers and new leaf ink on the leaves. You can see how some of the leaves are darker than others...you get that just by sponging on a bit more ink.
The sentiment die cut is from the Color Pop Florals kit....so pretty and can work for so many different occasions.
For the flowers, I stamped both hawaiian shores and new leaf detail images on top, and on the leaves, added a new leaf detail layer as well as the veining in ripe avocado.
Ok, crew be sure to visit Nichole Heady for lots more peeks and to see which of the other designers have posts to share today!
