Hey friends,
Just wanted to pop in with a quick note to let you know that we're headed back to Mayo Clinic today. After doing well last summer, on the various medicines I take, I started getting sick again in August and have been sick for the last six months straight, with the exception of 3 weeks. Who knows why those three weeks were so much better, but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, so I'm just super grateful that God allowed that little reprieve! :)
Anyway, if you follow me on instagram or twitter, you'll see our adventures in Minnesota while we're away at Mayo, and I thought that might be confusing what with it being in the middle of....oh, you know, only the biggest release of the year at Papertrey! Haha. Needless to say, I did not get to pick what dates my appointments were scheduled! I had to take the earliest I could get in with my doctor, which has been a couple months wait already, and of course, they scheduled me right in the middle of the anniversary release. Wouldn't you know it.
Not to worry though! I have everything scheduled and ready to roll here at my blog, so it'll be Countdown business as usual! But if you follow me on social media and can clearly see that I'm not at home, you'll know why!
I would also ask for your prayers as we make this third trip to Mayo. Our first trip was a year and a half ago and I know some of you have been praying for me since long before that. We have some big decisions to make about treatment options, I'll be having some tests repeated and might have a short surgical procedure done that could be kind of a big deal afterward, but might help some. We're praying for wisdom for us and for the doctors, and that ultimately we would follow whichever path God wants us to take. And obviously, we're praying that one way or another, God would bring about healing in my body. It's been a long road, but I'm so grateful for all the good He's brought about in my own heart and mind since all this started and I'm so grateful that I've been able to lean on Him through this whole process. There have been some really dark nights, but He's carried me through each one!
We have to be at Mayo for a week this time, so we're super grateful that my sweet sister and her family will be staying at our house with Windsor, so his routine won't be too interrupted (although he probably won't sleep a wink, until the littles are asleep each night!). And as with any trip to Mayo Clinic, we do our best to make the trip as FUN as possible, since we all know, the main reason for the trip is decidedly NOT fun. Haha! So, we'll be doing some antiquing along the way and once we get there, we get to visit the store with my favorite antiques booth EVER! Remember the one with all the color coordinated sections full of bright, cheery dishes and such?! Can't wait to see it again! I'll post pictures on twitter and instagram, so keep an eye out! (Even if you're not on either of those sites, you can see my tweets right here at my blog, over in the right hand side bar.) We'll also get to eat several meals at our favorite Italian restaurant ever, so I'm excited about that! I'm just trying to see this as a fun little Valentines get-away with my love....to Rochester, Minnesota....and while we're there, I'll probably just pop in to Mayo Clinic a few times! Haha!
Thanks for keeping us in your prayers! We so appreciate you all....you're just the best!
