Hi there!
Welcome back for another fun Papertrey Group Post! Today, we're showcasing Betsy's newest mini kit -- Color Pop Butterflies! I just have to say that I am LOVING the addition of the stencils we've had in the line-up lately, and the ones that come in this kit are no exception! They just open a lot of doors for more design options, in terms of playing with color, so you know how much I love that!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on May 15 at 10pm EST.
I've got one card for you today, featuring those stencils and another that focuses more on the stamps and dies. Let's start with the stencils, since I've already been gushing about them a bit. ;) I created this fun background, with the stencils, which are actually a set of three stencils which allow you to add your colors on in layers. To start off, I used the stencil with the large butterflies and sponged on the color with ink blending tools. I started with the new amethyst allure color at the bottom of the card, then blended on some hawaiian shores, making sure to overlap the purple some, which creates a pretty blue color in between the purple and the aqua. Next, I added some green parakeet followed by bright buttercup at the top. (Can I just say how much I'm also loving having all of these new colors to play with?!!!!)
After that, I used the stencil with the tiny flowers and sponged those on with berry sorbet ink and lastly, I used the stencil with the little leaves and smaller butterflies. I followed the same colors I'd used on the large butterflies, for the smaller ones and used new leaf ink for the leaves.
The sentiment strip at the top, features sentiments from the new Inspired: Faith stamp set.
Once I had all the sponging done, I used the Color Pop Butterflies stamps to add the butterfly details with smokey shadow ink. The flower centers were stamped in pure poppy ink and I topped the new leaf leaves with more new leaf ink for the veins.
Next up, I used one of the new Color Pop Butterflies patterned papers as well as the stamps and dies to create this quick card! I love how easy these kits make it, to create quick, yet darling cards! The paper has white spaces where you can simply stamp in the openings, or you can add die cut pieces right over the top. However in this case, I love the look of the black and white, so I chose to leave some of those white spaces blank.
I die cut two large butterflies from hawaiian shores card stock and stamped them with coordinating detail stamps with new leaf, green parakeet, hawaiian shores and tropical teal inks. I used the "So happy" die from the kit, to cut out the hawaiian shores sentiment and then used the little banner die (also from the kit) to die cut white card stock, that I stamped with one of the companion sentiments from the set. That's it! Pretty simple, but still lots of great detail, thanks to these beautiful products and how easy they are to use!
All righty, I'm off for now, but my teammates all have projects to show you!
