Hey there! Time for more of my favorite things and this month, I've got quite a few to share.....lots of things I'm enjoying that maybe you will, too! There are some bigger ticket items as well as some pretty affordable ones. You guys seem to enjoy these posts, so I'll try to keep them coming.
First up, are my new Crocs wedges. Holy smoke, these babies are comfortable! I've never owned a regular pair of Crocs...those aren't really my style. But when I saw these online and read about how comfortable they are.....and THEN, I saw how affordable they are on Amazon, I decided to give them a try and boy, am I glad I did! They're comfy but they're so cute and feminine too. They look great with shorts or with jeans, and I've got some skirts that they'd work well with, too. So happy I gave them a try.
So, I've been wanting a Lamy fountain pen for at least a year or two now, but I never bit the bullet and got one. I loved this particular color but when I discovered it on Pinterest, it had already been discontinued. So I held off getting one of the other colors, because I just didn't love them as much as this one. So imagine my surprise when, for Easter this year, Lamy brought back this popular, previously discontinued color! Woohoo! I was so excited, I snapped one up and I'm loving it! I got the medium point and it came with one blue ink cartridge. I might change that to a different ink color when the blue runs out, but regardless, I feel so fancy writing with this pretty pen! Haha! If you're a pen lover like me, you might want to treat yourself!
Ok, huge, huge fan of this next one! Y'all know I've been a fan of Essie's polishes for years. They just came out with a whole new line of polishes called Gel Couture. This is a two-step gel manicure that you can do at home and the best part is, no UV light needed! For step 1, you can use any of the 42 Gel Couture colors of polish and then for step 2, you need the Gel Couture Top Coat (that's the white bottle in the photo above). I use Gelous Base Coat (not an Essie product).....I've told you about this one before. And then, I do two coats of color and finish with one coat of the Gel Couture top coat.
My mani's have been lasting about 10 days, using these new polishes! Compared to the 4 days or so, that I usually get out of Essie's regular polishes, this feels huge to me! Very, very happy with how well these perform. So far, I have this color, this one, this one, and this one. I also think this one looks pretty cute! You might have seen me wearing a couple of these in instagram photos recently. Loving them!
So, there's a new Kindle Paperwhite in the house! My first kindle is several years old and has been acting up on occasion, for about a year, when I try to order a new book. It was getting super annoying, which is funny considering in the beginning, I didn't even think I NEEDED a Kindle. I was perfectly happy to read regular old books.....you know the kind. With real PAPER in them. Haha! But one day, my dear husband decided I needed a Kindle (even though I had gone on and on about the merits of actual books vs. digital ones...), so he got me one for Christmas. Or my birthday. One of them. Anyway, it was a lot like when he decided to get me a Vagabond die cutting machine, even though he knew I was perfectly content with my beloved Big Shot. He gave me the Vagabond and low and behold, I DID need it!!! I was just saying the other day, in fact, that if this one ever croaks, I'd get a new one in a hot second. I can't imagine life without it now! Hahaha!
Actually, I should add that here too.....the Vagabond is definitely one of my favorite things! lol!
Aaaaaanyway, back to the kindle. Turns out, I love that thing too! Man, I hate it when he's right! :) So, they had a great deal on them for Prime Day last week so we bit the bullet and got a new one and golly, is it pretty!
We also got the power adapter, because I never had one for my old one, so for the last several years, I've just had to plug the kindle in to my computer to charge it, which is honestly a bit of a hassle. So, do yourself a favor and get the adapter, too.
And of course, with any new device these days, you usually have to get a case. I chose this one because it can stand up, so I can prop up my Kindle on the kitchen table to read while I eat lunch. Very handy. And isn't the color just gorgeous?! Of course, they have other colors if this one isn't your thing. A $50 case on sale for $15 isn't too shabby.
Ok, so these next few are for you knitters and crocheters. I do not have any idea why it took me so long to order one of these, but how the heck did I live without my own yarn winder for so long? Man, it makes things so much easier to be able to wind my own little yarn cakes before starting a knitting project!
I also got this yarn swift, to put the hanks of yarn on, before they get wound onto the winder. Very happy with both purchases.
Oh, and you might have also seen my foray into the wonderful world of sock knitting on Instagram lately, too! My friend is teaching me to knit socks, and she recommended these needles because the red cord doesn't get all twisted up and I love them! In fact, I ordered more! I have three pair now, so I can cast on more socks! Haha.
One more for today.....
I had an awesome silver watch that was just one of those great, basic, classic watches that you could wear every day. You could dress it up or down and I loved it. It was a Fossil and I wore that thing for literally 10 years before it croaked and couldn't be repaired. I was bummed. Ever since then, I've had other watches that I've really liked, but none that were that perfect wear-it-every-day kind of watch. Until this Invicta Watch came along.....
I have to say, I'm really liking it! It's a great not-too-big, not-too-small size and it looks great with bracelets stacked up with it, too. If you're in the market for a new watch, I'm loving this one!
All right friends, that's a lot of faves for one day. Hope you've enjoyed this post and as always, feel free to share some of your favorites in the comments section, so we can all see what you're loving these days, too!
Have a great Thursday!
