Hello again, my friends....today, I get the privilege of helping to introduce you to Betsy's newest Paper Clippings stamps and dies -- this one is called Paper Clippings: Done in Love. And, I'll also be sharing lots of peeks at my second new release this month, called Just the Thought! But we'll get to that in a bit. First, let's chat about Paper Clippings: Done in Love....m'kay? :)
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on July 15 at 10pm EST.
I have to say of all the Paper Clippings dies so far, this one might just be my favorite. I LOVE the large scale, off-set heart. I mean, that's just brilliant design, people. I love that it sits over at the edge of the card and you have the perfect little spot for adding embellishments in the bottom corner. And I think this die cut is just so pretty, you can simply die cut it from white card stock, layer it on a dark color and you're set. So striking!
For this card, I pulled out another of those dark gray patterned papers from my Floral Sketches set (can you tell I'm loving that dark gray with a bit of a cross-hatch pattern, for layering? It's such a great neutral!). I adhered it on a berry sorbet card base and then added some die cut elements using the Paper Clippings: Done in Love stamps and dies.
For this next card, I used the Paper Clippings: Done in Love stamps rather than the large die cut, to stamp the sentiment in the new Cocoa Bean color (tapping a bit of the ink off with a sponge, up at the top half of the stamp to give a slight gradient effect) and added the little die cut "in" also from Paper Clippings: Done in Love, to complete the sentiment. Then, I just stamped lots of little floral bits and pieces around the sentiment.
On the right side of the white panel, I added a strip of pure poppy bitty dot paper that was die cut with the small scalloped border die and tucked a couple of small Paper Clippings: Done in Love leaf die cuts peeking out the side. The card base is also the new Cocoa Bean color! I love this medium brown!
Next up, I had to do some watercoloring on that gorgeous die cut! But rather than color each of the little individual elements, I watercolored a large gradient color palette on watercolor card stock and when it was dry, simply cut out the heart. I love the surprise of seeing where each of the colors ended up on the die cut.....it turns out different each time you do it!
I added a little strip of Floral Sketches patterned paper along the bottom of the card front, and used the little heart dies from Paper Clippings: Done in Love to cut out each of the hearts from more Floral Sketches papers.
Gosh, here's another that just shows you, you really don't have to do anything to this die cut to make it beautiful! It comes perfectly beautiful as is! Just layer up your favorite color combos and add a bit of embellishment or a companion sentiment and you're good to go!
The flower and leaves here are from Paper Clippings: Done in Love and here is your first peek at my new It's the Thought sentiment set!!
So, let me tell you a little about It's the Thought. It's a sentiment set featuring all sorts of variations on the 'thinking of you' sort of theme. There are quite a few sentiments and sentiment-building options in the set and there is also a set of companion dies that you can purchase to give you even more design options! I used one of those dies here -- the "Amazing" and paired it with one of the companion sentiments from It's the Thought to complete the sentiment! Both were created using the new Cocoa Bean ink and card stock....and the same goes for thee scalloped border on either sides.
I love this color combo of cocoa bean with melon berry and pale peony! So soft and sweet! The card base is melon berry while the striped paper is pale peony. As for the flowers, I die cut those from pale peony and stamped the first layer with the same ink, and then used berry sorbet to add the detail lines on top. As for the leaves, those were cut and stamped with melon berry and topped with cocoa bean.
This was a fun card to make....lots of yummy texture here! I stamped the pair of sentiment building components from It's the Thought on some white card stock and then ran it through the vagabond with the quatrefoil cover plate die, but using an embossing sandwich.
Then, I added a stamped Bold Bouquet die cut to finish things off!
And while I had the Bold Bouquet dies out on my desk, my eyes landed on this single leaf die, which I used to create this fun, giant flower! I simply die cut fifty million leaves (haha!) from pale peony, hibiscus burst, berry sorbet and melon berry card stocks and then, starting in the bottom right corner, layered them on the card front. I simply adhered them on the bottom half of each leaf and then tucked the next layer behind, repeating the process.
I used another of the dies from the It's the Thought die collection, to add this simple sentiment, cut from cocoa bean card stock. Easy peasy!
And one more for today.....this is literally like the easiest card on the planet! I pulled out one of the Floral Sketches patterned papers, stamped a sentiment from It's the Thought with cocoa bean ink, and after trimming the sides just a little, popped it on a white card base. All that was left to do, was to add a few little sequins here and there! These papers really make it so quick and easy to whip up beautiful cards in a snap!
Ok, I'm off for now, but I'll be back tomorrow with some more fun projects to share, so I hope you'll join me!
For today, you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Melissa Phillips & Danielle Flanders for lots more sneak peeks. Betsy Veldman, Heather Nichols, Erin Lincoln, Maile Belles & Lizzie Jones will have peeks at their new sets as well.
Have a great day, friends!
