Hey again!
Welcome back for the last group post for this month's Papertrey release! Today, we're showcasing a whole new line of products designed by Heather Nichols, that will allow you to create all sorts of travel journals and such, as well as the newest in the What the Doodle collection by Betsy Veldman....What the Doodle: Map.
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on July 15 at 10pm EST.
First up, I have a very chubby travel journal to show you.....how fun is this?! The great thing about these is that you can totally make them up ahead of your trip, and then take it along with you. That way you can fill in your thoughts as they're happening, and just tuck some photos in when you get home and your travel journal is DONE! No major project to come home to, that you may or may not ever actually finish! Ha! (Can you tell I might have some experience in this area??? Wink!)
So, I used the Traveler's Journal: Outer Cover dies to create the hawaiian shores cover. I used the Traveler's Journal Pages, which are unassembled blank journal pages, as well as the Traveler's Journal Elastic Cord, to put together the body of the journal. Essentially, I created three mini books, that are all held inside the outer cover, with more elastic cord.
I used a piece of map paper from the Traveler's Journal Paper Collection as well as stamps and dies from Traveler's Journal: Adventure and Traveler's Journal: Typed Notes to decorate the cover of my mini book. I also used suitcases from the previously released Pack Your Bags set, and I can't stop with those hibiscus flowers from the new Some Like It Hot! :) I will not apologize. LOL.
I used the Journal Tabs dies and more of the patterned papers from the Traveler's Journal Paper Collection to add tabs to each of the mini notebooks, and stamped various words from Traveler's Journal: Adventure and Traveler's Journal: Typed Notes in cocoa bean ink.
I've got a couple of little spreads to show you, too, that are ready to go. First, I used What the Doodle: Map stamps and dies, to add the fun map (that's a white die cut layer, stamped in cocoa bean and layered over the solid hawaiian shores die cut). The two green die cuts are from the Traveler's Journal: Adventure die collection, and the "Let's Go!" stamp as well as the strip at the bottom, are from the Traveler's Journal: Adventure stamp set. And of course, more Some Like It Hot flowers.... :)
On the opposite page, I used a little date stamp and the lines from Journal Accessories, so I have a journaling page all ready to be written in. Oh, and the little geotag is from Traveler's Journal: Adventure.
One more.....good golly, I love those flowers! I mean, really really love.... The little phrases are more from Traveler's Journal: Adventure and Traveler's Journal: Typed Notes.
And same thing on this page....another Traveler's Journal: Adventure die cut and more Journal Accessories stamps.
And in case you thought you couldn't make cards with these goodies, too, think again! :) I watercolored some Zig marker ink onto some watercolor card stock and when that was totally dry, heat embossed the What the Doodle: Map in black embossing powder. Then, I added the "true story" from Traveler's Journal: Typed Notes, in ripe avocado ink.
The geotag is another from Traveler's Journal: Adventure and I added one of the sentiments from the new Keep It Simple: Missing You stamp set, as well as.....you guessed it. More flowers.
The papers along the bottom are from the Traveler's Journal paper collection, as well as last month's Woodblock Prints.
Ok, that's it for me, but there's lots more for you to see!
