Hello, friends! Happy Friday to you!
Bible journaling has become hugely popular in recent years, but if you're not someone who feels confident with your handwriting or your artistic abilities to draw and doodle, it can be a bit intimidating. BUT, for us stampers, it can be a wonderfully inspiring and creative outlet, if we use our stamps to stamp beautiful scriptures and images in our Bibles. I touched on this some during the recent Papertrey Countdown and even shared my reasons for choosing this particular journaling Bible to stamp in, in my previous post. Just scroll down to read that.
So I thought I'd share a few more examples today, all using previously released stamp sets that you may already have in your stash. And even if you don't see yourself doing any Bible journaling/stamping, you can totally adapt these layouts and colors for use on cards!
For this first page, I pulled out the A Cheerful Heart stamp set. It's full of verses that are perfect for stamping in your Bible! And I paired it with the hibiscus flowers from Some Like It Hot because there's not much more cheery than a bright, beautiful hibiscus....in my humble opinion. ;)
For this next page, I pulled out the Phrases & Praises stamp set and paired it with feathers from Feather Finery. The sentiment was too wide to stamp it horizontally in the margin, but no matter. I just stamped it vertically and then added those pretty feathers.
I did some ink blending on the feathers, inking each up with two colors before stamping them on the page. Oh, and I should mention that just in case of any bleed through to the page behind, I just tucked a piece of copy paper behind the Bible page when stamping.
One more.....again, I used a stamp from A Cheerful Heart and paired it with images from Spring Woods. I love this because the whole passage there in Matthew, talks about not worrying and how the birds and the flowers don't worry and yet, look at how well the Lord provides for them, so how much more will He provide for us. It made it really fun to stamp the bird and flowers with the verse, to reiterate that point.
As it turns out, there are lots of other stamp sets that Papertrey has come out with over the years, that could easily be used for Bible journaling. Here are just a few I'm hoping to use in my Bible at some point....
Easter Alleluias perhaps paired with Tulip Time
Guiding Lights paired with a verse about letting your light shine
And how fun would some Christmas pages be?!
Oh Holy Night (has some great Christmas verses!)
Star of Wonder
Nativity Silhouettes & Additions
Spruce & Sprigs
Painted Pointettias
And some great sets to pair with any scriptures...
Bold Blossoms
Harvest Berries
Brushed Blooms
Mum's the Word
Brushed Off
Seriously, so many possibilities....these are just a few I thought of. I hope I've inspired you to do some stamping, whether in your journaling Bible or on some cards! Or heck, you could even pair some of these verses and images on a set of inspirational bookmarks!
Have fun stamping, friends!
