Hello there! Thought I'd pop back in with this month's favorite things! I have quite a few fun things to tell you about today....these are all things that I've been loving and using and thought you might enjoy, too. They cover quite a wide range of categories so there might just be a little something for everyone! Or maybe you'll be like me and love them all! Haha.
Ok, so my dear friend gave me a set of three of these and I was excited to try them because I'd seen them a few times recently on instagram and people were talking about how much they loved them. And then I wrote with them. HOLY SMOKE. These might be the smoothest pens I've ever written with! They're gel pens, BUT they dry super fast and don't smear (unless you touch them like one second after you wrote! haha). And even then, it totally depends on the paper. I have been using them to do my Bible study homework and have even used them in my Bible and over and over again, I'd rub it to see if it would smear and 9 times out of 10, would shake my head in amazement at how quickly the ink was dry. Super impressed. And did I mention how smoooooooth they write?! Yes, I know I did but it's worth mentioning again. I love pens and have tried lots of them and I am super impressed with these. So impressed that this pack of 14 is currently on it's way to my doorstep and will be in my hot little hands before the week is out. And when they arrive, you can rest assured there will be a celebratory photo of said pens, posted on instagram. :)
Next up, let's talk tea. I've recently cut out coffee for the time being (insert sad face) and have been making an effort to become a tea drinker (insert happy face). I love the IDEA of tea and for sure love the idea of tea cups and saucers and teapots and all that jazz....it just seems so fancy and ladylike! Haha. But I hadn't previously found a tea that I really liked and specifically a green tea, because that's what my doctor wants me drinking these days. But we recently found this one at Whole Foods and I have to say, it's not too shabby! I'm drinking it regularly and actually enjoying it! Haha. I take my tea with a bit of honey and goat's milk (it's easier to digest) and it's pretty tasty. So, there you go. I love that this one has a little more body to it and feels sort of cozy and fall-ish too, which is nice since it's just around the corner. I'm ready, fall. I've got my tea figured out, so you can come any time you're ready!
I also got an electric teapot -- to make me like drinking tea more, because let's face it, it's the little things, friends. It's the little things. This one not only heats water super fast and super hot, but it's also so stinkin' cute! It definitely adds a little something to my tea drinking experience! Haha. It looks darling sitting out on the counter and I feel even fancier when I have a friend over and can pour her a cup of tea, too! I love that there are no plastic parts that come in contact with the water and I don't have to heat up the stove or use the microwave to heat up water. Like I said, fast and easy....and stylish at the same time.
This next one may seem a bit random, but it's been a total game changer on our front porch! I do have a grow light in the basement, for all the succulents, so I can keep them growing and thriving all winter long. But I can't enjoy LOOKING at them so much, when they're down in the basement. So during the summer months, I like to have them up and out where I can see them. You may have seen, if you follow me on twitter or instagram, that I put the succies out on the deck in back one day and it got so hot, a whole bunch of them got sunburned! We're talking big black spots on lots of leaves. It was a little traumatizing. For me, more than the succies, I'm sure. lol. Anyway, I've finally figured out that they love the morning sun we get on our front porch, but not so much the blazing hot afternoon sun on the back deck. :) So, this plant stand on the front porch, let's me have lots of them out front, without taking up a ton of space. I've also got my family of kalanchoe plants on this.....all that color looks so cute on the shelves and brightens up the porch. And at $37, I felt like it was a pretty good deal! It comes folded up....you simply unfold it almost like a ladder. So simple to set up and no assembly required.
So, I've had a few questions about which journaling Bible I got, and used during this past Papertrey Countdown, for all the Bible stamping I did. Here it is. I went to our local Christian bookstore a couple times and flipped through lots of different journaling Bibles and settled on this one. I know some of you were hoping to find one with thicker pages, so the stamping wouldn't bleed through. I don't know if such a thing exists out there somewhere, but of all the Bibles I flipped through, they basically all seemed to have the same general weight of paper.
A few things I love about this one....it's a "lay-flat" Bible, so it was made to lay flat rather than snap shut on you because it's new and not yet broken in. It was designed to be written in, so it's supposed to lay flat to make that a bit easier. That helps a ton, when you're stamping in it, too! ;) I also love that it's already so "flopsy".....as in, it just flops open and lays there, almost as though it's already been lovingly read again and again, and sort of broken in for you....except that it's brand new. And of course, the cover is pretty. I love that about it, too. I was buying this one, for the sole purpose of stamping and journaling in, so I wanted it to be pretty....just like when I buy pretty journals to write in. This one fit the bill. Of course, there are many different versions, styles and types of journaling Bibles out there, so go with whatever works best for you. But this was my pick! Hope that helps!
Lorac Front of the Pro Liquid Eye Liner
One more for you today, this one's for all the make-up lovers out there. I am love-loving this eye liner! I was a tried and true eye liner pencil girl for ages, but the fact is, it's hard to get a really sharp point on the winged eye liner look, with a chubby pencil tip! lol. I tried eye liner in a tub with a brush for a bit and I do like that just fine, but this eye liner is way easier and I feel like I have a bit more control over the line I'm drawing. Very pleased with this one!
All right....that was a lot of random, but as usual, I'm just sharing things with you that I'm currently using and loving. Feel free to share some of your current favorites in the comments section, as well!
Have a great day, my friends!
