Hi there!
Welcome back for another fun Papertrey Group Post!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on August 15 at 10pm EST.
Today, we're talking about Thanksgiving and being thankful and there are a slew of new products to help you express your gratitude in many ways! First up, I've used Betsy's new Color Pop: Autumn goodies to create this fun background pattern! I LOVED making this paper and sheesh, it didn't take any time at all, thanks to Betsy's brilliant designs! The four different stencils lay right over the top of the brown and white "blank" paper and you just sponge in the ink, in the openings on the stencils. It's super easy to do different colors, because the stencils are all separate. And then, when you have that done, you can go back in with the stamp set, and stamp the coordinating detail images right over the top. Fast and easy but super stylish! I love cards like that!
I used the coordinating die and a companion sentiment from the set, to add the sentiment here.
Next up, I used the new Paper Clippings: Thankful for You stamps and dies to create a little hostess gift ensemble.
For the card, I started out with a piece of white card stock and blended four inks on it -- saffron spice, canyon clay, terracotta tile and cocoa bean -- and then I ran it through my Vagabond with the Paper Clippings: Thinking of You die. These die cuts are so detailed and gorgeous, they practically make the card for you!
All that was left to do, was to add a few Studio Calico gems from my stash. Oh, and in case you're worried about how to adhere these intricate die cuts, spray adhesive is just the ticket! Why, oh why, did it take me so long to figure this out?! Haha! It's made my life so much easier!
For the gift, I tucked some chocolate covered almonds in an adorable little mason jar and topped it with a bow and tag. I die cut the tag from saffron spice card stock and stamped it with the "for you" from Paper Clippings: Thankful for You.
I used the Paper Clippings: Thankful for You Details dies, to cut out all the little bits and bobs and stamped them with images from the stamp set.
For this card, I used Heather's new Autumn Pumpkins stamp set and dies, to create these cutie little pumpkins. I die cut them from linen card stock....I love the texture on that stuff!
I used a zig marker and a water brush to create the background on some watercolor card stock and when it was dry, I splattered on some more ink (saffron spice) and some water droplets. When THAT was dry, I stamped the sentiment and all the little stems and leaves. That was layered on some orange zest gingham paper. Over on the left, I added a leftover strip of the patterned paper I created for the card at the top of this post, as well as a strip of saffron spice card stock.
And since we're on the subject of giving thanks, I wanted to be sure and show you a few projects using my new Give Thanks stamp set! This one is great for saying thank you, for wishing a Happy Thanksgiving and even for creating cards and gifts for hostesses. You can totally use this one year round and I love, love the sentiments in this set!
I used the Noted: Scalloped Square die to cut out some linen card stock and then stamped it with the sentiment from Give Thanks, as well as the wheat stalks and acorns.
I layered the square on some ripe avocado bitty dot paper, which was adhered to the tropical teal card base. A strip of saffron spice card stock and some baker's twine finished this one off.
Ok, so this one includes one of my favorite sentiments, too....."Food is memories"! Isn't that soooo true? Bartley and I have been blessed to do quite a bit of traveling over the course of our married life and if ever we're talking about some trip we were on and some city we were in and some little restaurant we were at, and I can't remember it exactly, but Bart is saying, "Yes you do....you remember. We sat at that one spot and the room looked like this and remember the outside of the place looked like that...." When I still can't remember, I'll say, "Tell me what we ate!" Because an amazing meal just has a way of sticking with you, doesn't it? :)
The same goes for regular old meals with the ones you love. It doesn't have to be fancy, but there's just something about sitting down to a meal together, that equates to making memories together and I just love that. So it was a joy to include this sentiment in the Give Thanks set. And not only can you use it as I did here, but you can also use it with a couple of the other companion sentiments to say, "Food is memories. Thank you for the meal." Perfect for when someone has you over for dinner or maybe when someone delivers dinner to you when you can't cook for yourself.....so many great uses.
I used the coordinating Give Thanks dies, to cut out the wheat stalks and acorns and stamped the wheat in both kraft and saffron spice inks.
The "Happy Thanksgiving" sentiment strip was the finishing touch on this card.
And here's a little bonus project.....I just thought I'd show you what that pretty "give thanks" sentiment looks like, when stamped in my journaling Bible. I wanted to lighten the color on the wheat and acorns so I stamped them off first, on linen card stock, before stamping them in my Bible. The result is a great linen texture that really shows up on those little acorns! Love!
I added a little handwritten note at the bottom. And one other thing I've decided to do since showing you my first Bible journaling pages the other day, is to date them as I do them. That way, as this Bible fills up with artwork, I'll be able to flip through and know exactly when I created it.....and perhaps even what I was going through at that time, based on the verses I was stamping with.
All right, that's it for me, but the whole crew has lots more to show you so be sure to visit each one!
