After Christmas, I usually find myself in need of some thank you notes, so I like to plan ahead each year, and have some ready to go beforehand. I usually make them right about now, but by this time, I'm usually kind of "over" all the Christmas images I've been using for several months and I'm ready for something light and fresh, often something floral and in this case, something clean with a lot of white space. I still wanted the colors to be a bit festive and wintery, so I kept to a red palette and the result is not only pretty, but was such a joy to create!
To make things easier, I created four of the same card, doing them assembly-line style. I started by die-cutting all the pieces -- four card bases, four floral bouquets and four mat layers.
I used my misti stamping tool, to stamp the bouquets. This made it easy to stamp multiple images with each impression. I had all four bouquets in the misti, and stamped two images at a time. It made the whole process a bit faster. I stuck with pure poppy, berry sorbet and scarlet jewel, to keep everything nice and festive, but by doing flowers instead of a Christmas image, it gave me a bit of a break and allowed me to really enjoy the process.
I used foam adhesive to adhere the rectangle layer and then adhered the flowers flat....I love the way they hang over the edge of the rectangle a bit.
The sentiment is from my Give Thanks stamp set and I love how well the font pairs with these pretty flowers. I stamped the sentiment in scarlet jewel, to coordinate with the bouquet.
All right, I'm off for now. I hope you've enjoyed these little thank you cards and I hope I've inspired you to whip up a few of your own!
Have a wonderful holiday, friends! Wishing you all the best as you celebrate the season and as you ring in the new year, too!
much love,
