Hey there! I'm back with some Valentine inspiration for you! I remember picking out boxes of Valentines at the store when I was little, and how much fun it was writing on each one. But I didn't have the luxury of making my own with all these fun stamps and dies and ink! I would have been in paper-crafty heaven! I've got a couple Valentines to show you, both of which can easily be made in bulk with your kiddos, so they can give Valentines this year, that aren't like anyone else's!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on December 15 at 10pm EST.
For this first one, I used half of a Noted: Scalloped A2 die cut. I cut it from watercolor card stock and then blended on some hawaiian shores ink. I then splattered on some hawaiian shores refill ink as well as some water droplets and then set them with my heat tool. I stamped the sentiment using ranger jet black ink, which I love for stamping on watercolor card stock. It's a nice, crisp black, even on that dense card stock.
I then die cut all the little pieces from Dress Up Dolls: Basics as well as the new Dress Up Dolls: Puppy Love, also from watercolor card stock and stamped each with the same black ink. Then I watercolored them all with my Zig markers and a water brush. You could totally make these with your kiddos....just die cut all the pieces at the same time and then let your little one color/watercolor everything all at the same time. All that's left is to pop everything on the little Valentine and write a simple to/from on the back! Easy peasy, but your little can customize them any way they'd like, using either the boy or girl and whatever clothing options they want to put on them!
Here's a simple little Valentine that includes a pencil gift as well. I used the Enclosed: Heart die to cut out the white heart and then stamped all the pieces in black ink. I did a bit of masking on her body, so I could stamp the t-shirt and jeans and keep everything one layer. I did add two little die cuts -- the puppy's shirt and the heart in her hand. After you get everything stamped, give your kiddo some colored pencils (as seen here), crayons, etc and let them go to town coloring everything in. When you're done, just add a strip of scor-tape to the center of the back side of the heart and stick it on a pencil! (You could do the same with a pixie stick, if you prefer to go the candy route.)
Again, they can simply write the to/from info on the back and you've got a sweet little Valentine with gift, that is sure to be a hit with all the kiddos who get them! I would have loved getting a pencil with a Valentine, when I was a kid, instead of another box of conversation hearts (which seemed to be the gift of choice every year!)! lol!
