Hi there!
It's time for a Papertrey Group Post and boy is this a fun one! We're featuring a new stamp set by Lizzie Jones called Palm Prints as well as a set by Nichole Heady, called Latin Motifs. The thing I think you'll find is that these stamp sets are a lot more versatile than you might think! I had a ball making this first card.....let me tell you about it!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on January 15 at 10pm EST.
I started out by die cutting various leaves and "flowers" from the Palm Prints collection and then I pulled out my Zig markers. I colored two marker colors directly on each stamp, spritzed them with water and then stamped them on some watercolor card stock. I LOVE the results!! The colors just blended together and have such a fun, watercolored look.
I will tell you that some of the marker colors will stain your stamps, so if that bugs you, be forewarned. But it doesn't affect the way the stamps work at all, so I don't worry about it. They just look loved this way! Haha!
After the ink dried on the leaves, I colored the vein images with a marker, and then stamped those on top. (I didn't spritz those with water.)
On the card base, I added one of the Cover Plate: Cozy Christmas die cuts and stamped the "thank you" from my new Family Ties stamp set, along the bottom with cocoa bean ink.
Next up is a card featuring Latin Motifs. I love the flowers and berries included in this set! They're two-step, which makes for such fun when layering colors.
The berries were stamped first with hawaiian shores and new leaf inks, followed by the sentiment components from the set. I stamped the flowers on a separate piece of card stock and fussy cut them, so I could get all those cute little notches around the edges! I used my Wink of Stella pen to add a little sparkle to the centers of the flowers and stamped the sun elements -- also from Latin Motifs -- in the upper corner.
You're not gonna want to miss any of the Latin Inspiration posts today, so be sure to hop around and check them all out!
