Hi there, friends!
The design team at Papertrey is popping in today, to share a few more projects featuring new products from the January release!! I have to tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed creating these cards....these products are not only easy to work with but they're so FUN! First up, I used the new Gathered Garden stamp set to create this little beauty. I'm LOVING this color combo, too.....it's a little bit retro. A little bit funky. Kind of reminds me of all the gold and avocado green from my childhood! Haha! But when you pair it (saffron spice & prairie grass) with bright colors such as new leaf and hawaiian shores, you get a fresh, modern take on a classic combo! I had fun with this one! Sigh....I love colors so much.
I used various images from Gathered Garden to create the little floral cluster up top. I used summer sunrise and ripe avocado inks, which pair so nicely with the more subdued card stock colors -- saffron spice and prairie grass. I added a few gems from my stash to the flower centers....I've had them for ages, but they were perfect for these little flowers.
I used my misti to stamp the sentiments -- both from Gathered Garden -- and was able to achieve a fun gradient effect on the "Thanks". The noted: scalloped square die was used to cut out the saffron spice layer. Love that die!
For this card, I used some watercolor card stock and the Gathered Garden stamp set again. However this time, after inking the stamps up with Zig markers, I spritzed them with water before stamping them on the watercolor card stock. The result is a really pretty watercolor effect.
I love how the colors mixed and mingled when I stamped the two-step images. The water made the various ink colors blend together a bit....you can especially see this effect on those little turquoise & green flowers. Love those!
The sentiment here, is from the Banner Style stamp set and was stamped in ripe avocado ink, which pairs nicely with the prairie grass card base.
Now here's a fun one! I used the new Grand Botanicals dies, to cut out all of these floral layers from watercolor card stock, and then used my Zig markers and a water brush to color them all. I love all those blended colors....so fun to layer them up!
I used another sentiment from Banner Style here. Those are such cleverly designed sentiments! I love them!
Just a closer look at those watercolors...
For this card, I used my Zigs again.....those things have brought so much joy and interest to the way I craft. Watercolor is just plain FUN! So I watercolored the corner of a piece of watercolor card stock, as well as a branch and flowers from the Grand Botanicals stamp set and then used one of the new Cornered dies to cut out the sentiment from white card stock. That got layered on top, and I finished the card off with a scalloped border from the heart border die, over on the right. Saffron Spice and Amethyst Allure are a pretty combo!
One more before I go.....I paired a few new goodies on this card, starting with the Floribunda Frame die, which I used on some watercolor card stock.
The sentiments are from Family Ties (Aunt) and Keep It Simple: Retirement. This die is a ton of fun to watercolor and gosh, it makes for a really fast, yet striking card!
All right, that's it for me today, but be sure to visit my friends, to see their release projects! You won't want to miss them!
