Hi there!
It's time to get this Papertrey Ink 10th Anniversary party started! Each day, the design team members are sharing projects featuring stamp sets from Papertrey's first 10 years. Today, half of the team is focusing on 2007 -- the first year the company was in business. We were asked to choose a stamp set from that year to work with, and I chose Spiral Bouquet!
When this set was first released, I was a customer and I promptly fell in love with that gorgeous script font! And of course, you know me and flowers! wink! The thing I like about these is how unique they are. And back in the day, I don't think it ever occurred to me to layer the line images over the solids -- haha! With the release of so many layering stamps over the years, that just seems so obvious to me now! Also, when this set was first released, Papertrey had wayyyyyyyy less colors to work with AND I hadn't delved into many techniques at all, like watercolor! I think my main technique other than stamping was heat embossing! That's it! lol! SO, it was a lot of fun to pull this set out, layer those images up and give them a bit of a watercolor flair!
I colored the solid images with my Zig markers and then spritzed them with water before stamping them on watercolor card stock. When that was dry, I stamped the line images over the top and then added the sentiment, both with Archival jet black ink. It provides such a sharp, crisp black on watercolor card stock. I also stamp the sentiment with my MISTI so I can easily stamp it a second time if need be, to get the black nice and dark. A scalloped patterned paper border finished things off.
Here's another card I made using this set back in the day....
I used one flower stamped three times to create a bigger flower! :)
Now that I have showcased how this product from the past has remained a classic, it's your turn to share your ideas for the future!
