Hi there!
Welcome back for another fun Papertrey 10th Anniversary Post! Today, we're focusing on the year 2009 which just happens to be the year that my first stamp set was released -- Damask Designs. Oh goodness, I can remember being sooooo nervous but also sooooo excited, but mostly sooooo nervous! Haha! What if you all hated the set?! What if no one bought it?! What if it was a total flop?! Turns out, it sold out pretty quickly and many of you ended up loving the set and using it almost as much as me! What a relief!! Haha!! (Side note: Thank you SO much for supporting me and my Raspberry Suite product line over the years! I appreciate each and every one of you and am so grateful for your support. It's also such a thrill to see what YOU make with products I've designed. It just never gets old!)
Anyway, this sweet little stamp set holds a very special place in my heart. I love building my own custom background patterns. There are so many new tools and techniques that have come out and that I've delved into since this set was released 8 years ago (!), that it made it really fun to try out something new this time around! I used my misti to create a red-to-pink ombre effect on my damask pattern. This was fun!
I stamped the images in raspberry fizz a few times with the MISTI, and then added some pure poppy on one half of the image before stamping it again over the top of the pink.
I used a sentiment from the set and put it on a double-ended banner die cut -- another thing we didn't have back in 2009! Ha! Lastly, I added a copule resin flowers that I've had in my stash for years. They were the perfect little finishing touch.
And how about a few other projects that I created with Damask Designs back in the day, starting with my all-time favorite.....
Gosh, why don't I used melon berry and hibiscus burst together more often?!
Now that I have showcased how this product from the past has remained a classic, it's your turn to share your ideas for the future! Stop by Nichole's blog to share a new project you make with this product, or just share a creation that is somehow inspired by what I made today.
