Hellooooo! Well, to say that I'm excited about today's post for Papertrey would be a bit of an understatement! As you know, I promised you more projects using Gran's Garden and today is the day! Although in the interest of full disclosure, I don't see myself putting this set down for aWHILE yet. This one has stolen my heart big time!! Just look at that picture above.....that lovely stack of floral beauties totally reminds me of all my vintage hankies! Love, love, love!
All of these new stamps and dies are in the Papertrey store now, so you can get them for yourself, if you'd like! I can't wait to tell you about these projects.....let's get right to it!
Good golly, these colors......where is the heart eyes emoji when you need it?! I started out by using one of the stencils from the new Lovely Lace mini kit and quickly blended some new leaf ink on the aqua mist card front. This is literally SO fast and easy to do and adds such huge impact to the card, I think!
I die cut and stamped the flowers and leaves from Gran's Garden next. The flowers are stamped with raspberry fizz, pure poppy and aqua mist inks on white card stock and the leaves are stamped with versamark ink on new leaf card stock.
HERE'S A TIP FOR YOU: I chose versamark ink because sometimes when stamping the matching ink color on it's same color card stock, it comes out a shade darker than what I'm going for. So by stamping in versamark, I keep the true color of the card stock, while keeping things a bit lighter.
Lastly, I die cut the banner and stamped it with a pretty sentiment from Give Thanks and popped everything on the card front.
Oh my word, so this next card totally reminds me of vintage upholstery fabric! Can't you just see a great old fabric covered, cushy rocking chair at Grandma's house in this print? Ha! I love it!
So I stamped the background using the two largest flowers from Gran's Garden, stamping them in hawaiian shores, new leaf and bright buttercup inks.
HERE'S ANOTHER TIP FOR YOU: Start by stamping a couple flowers in the middle of your card stock. Then, add some leaves around those flowers, and then fill in around the leaves with more flowers. By starting in the middle and working your way out AND by alternating flowers, then leaves, then flowers, then leaves, you are sure to end up with a well balanced background. Lastly, go in with a tiny image (I used the little yellow flower) and fill in any leftover holes.
To finish things up, I die cut my floral panel with the larger Sentiment Splits: Curved Vertical dies and before mounting them on the card front, I stamped a coordinating sentiment from Sentiment Splits.
For this card, I stamped lots of images from Gran's Garden, in the upper portion of a white card stock layer and then just fussy cut the panel out with some paper snips. Don't be afraid of cutting things out like this!!! You can do it!! It's not that hard! Just go sloooooow if you need to and you'll get it! It makes such a big impact, when you do it on cards like this! Trust me....would I lead you astray? Never! :) I hope you'll give it a try!
Can I also just let you in on a little secret? I really love how berry sorbet ink looks when layered over the top of hibiscus burst ink, as seen on the two larger flowers here. I put melon berry in the center on the dots, and gosh, I just love that combo! Some colors just really SING when you layer them on top of each other and I think that's the case here.
On the white card base, I did a little ink sponging with some aqua mist ink and then added a few splatters with my re-inker. Lastly, I stamped a sentiment from Banner Sentiments and adhered the cut out panel at the top, using foam adhesive.
How sweet are these little gift tags? I used the Made With Love Tags 3 dies, to cut out a white tag and a berry sorbet one. Then, I stamped lovely lady dots (from Made With Love) on the white layer and versamark dots on the sorbet layer.
I added a berry sorbet strip that was stamped with a sentiment from the new Keep It Simple: Gift For You and above that, added some Gran's Garden flowers and leaves. These were stamped with berry sorbet and scarlet jewel, with pure poppy on the dots in the center of the largest flower.
I used the back tag to add a little note to the recipient. I hope she loves her gift! Can't wait to see her face when she opens it! :)
One more for today! For this one, I used the new Quoted: Start Again stamp set and die cut some watercolor card stock with two of the new Mix & Mat dies. Then, I stamped the sentiment in versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. After that, I added some color with my Zig markers and used a water brush to blend out the colors.
How fun is that little tab over on the right?! That's one of my new Made With Love Tags 1 dies! I just have the bottom end of the tag peeking out, but I love that little touch. I topped it with a ripe avocado button threaded with a little turquoise baker's twine from my stash.
All right, friends, I hope you've enjoyed these projects and our time together today! Do you have any of these stamps or dies on their way to you already? What are you excited to play with first?
