Hello there! The Papertrey June Countdown is rolling right along and today, I wanted to officially introduce you to my new Garden Party stamp set, as well as give you several more ideas for how you can use my new To the Point Edgers Dies!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on June 15 at 10pm EST.
Let's get right to the projects!
For this first card, I started off with a piece of pure poppy card stock and die cut it with the detail die from the new Mix & Mat: Pretty Brackets collection. Next, I trimmed it up on three sides and then left a wider section still in tact at the bottom. We'll come back to that.
Next, I die cut and stamped several flowers and leaves from Garden Party using raspberry fizz, pure poppy and scarlet jewel ink for the flowers and simply chartreuse and ripe avocado for the leaves. I also die cut a double-ended banner die and stamped it with a sentiment from the new Ways to Say: Hello.
Along the bottom of the pure poppy panel, I used one of the To the Point Edgers dies, to add a pretty detail and that wide space at the bottom, also created the perfect place to tuck my little sentiment banner.
Next up, I watercolored a panel of watercolor card stock with just two different pink Zig markers and a water brush. What that was dry, I die cut it in two, using one of the To the Point Edgers dies. How fun is it that you can use these off-center on your cards, too?! I love this look! Behind the watercolor panel, I used another To the Point Edgers die to cut out the mini cocoa bean scalloped strip and all of that was layered on a saffron spice card base, where I stamped a sentiment from the new Keep It Simple: Happy Mail.
For the flowers, I wanted to a yellow-ish flower, but didn't want it so dark as saffron spice, so I stamped it off before stamping it on the die cut. I repeated this three times, to get the tan/yellow color on the largest flower. Then, I used saffron spice at full strength, to stamp the leaves. Cocoa bean and raspberry fizz were used on the smaller flower and flower details.
I love how this next card almost looks like a little purse.....or even an envelope!
I cut a strip of white card stock with the straight edged To the Point Edgers die and added a scalloped melon berry strip behind it, with the mini scallops die from the collection. I also stamped a sentiment from the new Ways to Say: Hello, before popping the whole panel on my white card base, with foam adhesive.
As for the flowers, I used hibiscus burst, berry sorbet and melon berry to stamp them and then used aqua mist on the long leaf cluster. I also used Betsy's trick on the rest of the leaves -- stamping them first with aqua mist, topped with vintage jadeite.
One more before I go.....this one has a bit of a vintage wallpaper feel to it. I love that!
I used various small images from Garden Party, to stamp these little flower clusters and I used the bud image from the set, to serve as leaves, stamping it three times in each little cluster. To get things going, I stamped some of these little clusters on a piece of scratch paper until I was happy with the arrangement and the spacing of the clusters, and then I stamped them pretty quickly on the actual card stock.
HERE'S A TIP FOR YOU: By stamping a bit on scratch paper first, you can be free to get your colors and placement just right, without the worry of messing up your actual project! And then, when you move on to your actual project, the stamping process will go much quicker.
I added a little banner that was stamped with a sentiment from Perfect Pairing and cut out with the double-ended banner die. I wanted a sweet little birthday sentiment without covering too much of my pretty stamped pattern.
Along the bottom of the card, I used the larger of the two scalloped dies from the To the Point Edgers collection, to cut both the white card stock, as well as a strip of tropical teal. Everything was layered on an aqua mist card base.
All righty, that's it for me today, but I hope you've enjoyed today's projects! You'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady for lots more inspiration and Wanda Guess will be sharing some projects with Garden Party as well!
Have a great day!
