Hi again! I'm popping in today, to share a couple more Cover Up cards with you. I've been having so much fun creating with these new stamps and goodness, I love pairing these backgrounds with previously released flower sets! Of course, you know you can pair these backgrounds with virtually any other stamps you have in your collection. But you know me and flowers. I can never resist! :)
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on May 15 at 10pm EST.
For this first card, I stamped a panel of smokey shadow card stock with Cover Up: Quatrefoil, using fresh snow ink, and then cut it out with one of the Limitless Layers circle dies. Then, to that circle, I layered some Gran's Garden flowers and leaves.
The sentiments are from the Especially You stamp set.
Here's a tip for you: When you want to use a pair of sentiments like this, and want to stamp them close together, so they look like "connected" rather than two separate stamps, stamp them close enough that they overlap. Just be sure to use the lighter of your two colors as the color that overlaps -- in this case, aqua mist -- so that you can still easily read the smaller stamp underneath.
Next up, I created a rainbow panel with the Cover Up: Diamonds stamp. This was super easy to do on my misti. I started at the top of the panel and masked off just below the hawaiian shores color. I did this with a piece of washi tape across the whole stamp (where you see the new leaf color). I inked up the hawaiian shores, removed the washi strip and stamped. Then, I moved the washi down to just below the next section of lines, inked it up with new leaf ink, removed the washi and stamped. I just repeated that all the way down the stamp.
Next, I die cut and stamped a bunch of flowers and leaves using the Floral Sketches stamp set. I laid all of the flowers out on the card front, arranging them just the way I wanted them, and then used Laurie Willison's Press n' Seal trick....have you seen the video she shared on instagram? Simply lay Press n' Seal over the top of all of your flowers and pick them all up just as you've arranged them. Turn the Press n' Seal over and apply glue to the back of all your flowers. Then, flip the whole thing back over and lay them in place on your card front, gluing everything down. SO fast and easy! No more adhering each little piece one at a time!
For the sentiment, I used one of the new Keep It Simple: Okay stamps, stamping it directly on the kraft card base.
All right, that's all I've got for you today, but I'll be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then, Nichole Heady has lots to share!
See you tomorrow, friends!
