Hey there! So today at Papertrey, my new Stencil Basics: Dots stencils are officially being introduced, so you know I had to pop in with some more dotty projects to share!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on August 15 at 10pm EST.
Here's a really fun way to use the stencils, that is sooooo fast! Using just a single ink color, you can start at one end of the card stock and blend ink over just a portion of the card stock. I used new leaf ink and started at the bottom, but didn't blend all the way to the top of the panel, so it just fades out leaving sort of an ombre look! And again, if you start out with really saturated ink blending sponges, this takes literally just seconds to do! I love that!
I used one of the Counting My Blessings dies, to cut out the word "grateful" from hawaiian shores card stock as well as 3 layers of white card stock. I blended some new leaf ink over the bottom portion of the hawaiian shores layer and then glued all four layers together with some spray adhesive. Quick and easy peasy!
As for the flowers, I die cut and stamped a flower from Gran's Garden, as well as several small clusters from Beautiful Berries: Autumn.
This card is obviously a completely different look, but I used many of the same elements! More ink blending with Stencil Basics: Dots here -- pure poppy on raspberry fizz card stock, more Gran's Garden flowers and more Beautiful Berries: Autumn!
I love the soft edges on the dots, when you blend them with ink.
For the sentiment, I used one from the new Ways to Say: Thinking of You and added a strip of new Bitty Big: Orange Zest paper at the bottom of the card.
One more for today......Here, I used the smaller Stencil Basics: Dots stencil and this time, just added dots over the center portion of the card with some lavender moon ink. I really like being able to easily add dots to just highlight a portion of the card front, without having to cover the entire front.
I pulled out the Enclosed: Leaf stamps and dies, to create the large leaf, blending some melon berry and lavender moon inks over the white leaf.
I also pulled out Spruce & Sprigs, to add the berry and leaf sprigs to finish things off.
Ok, I'm off for now, but I'll have lots more projects to share soon, including more with Stencil Basics: Dots so stay tuned!
