Hello there! It's time for the Papertrey August Countdown and this month, I get to help introduce you to the new Beautiful Berries: Autumn stamps & dies by Betsy Veldman as well as the new Quoted: Right Moment stamp set by Nichole Heady. I've also got a set of stencils coming out this month and I'm excited to show you those, too! Let's dive right in!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on August 15 at 10pm EST.
To get started, I die cut lots of berry bits and branches from Beautiful Berries: Autumn and then stamped them all up with my Misti stamping tool. It made it fairly quick to stamp lots of them in different color combos! For this card, I stamped the branches in ripe avocado, the leaves in hawaiian shores and the berries in canyon clay. I love how fallish this color combo is, while still being bright and cheery!
The sentiment is from the new Year of Psalms: August stamp set -- there will be more about that later in the week, at Nichole's blog! I also used a new die to cut out the white panel and you can stay tuned for more details about that, too! Behind that is a layer of patterned paper from a collection coming this month and it's all layered on a cocoa bean card base.
Next up is a card made with the new Quoted: Right Moment stamp set paired with Beautiful Berries: Autumn.
I also used my new Stencil Basics: Dots to create that pretty background! Stencil Basics: Dots comes with two stencils in the set and I used the large one here with three ink colors. If you start out with really saturated sponges on your ink blending tools, you can create these backgrounds in literally just minutes! In fact, I think this one took me approximately one minute. Not even kidding! So fast and easy and that's even with blending three colors!
Just put your paper down and lay the stencil on top. Tape the corners of the stencil with a bit of washi tape or the like, just to make sure it doesn't move on you. Then blend on your color. You don't have to be overly fussy about the actual blending. Dragging the blending tool over the stencil seems to help even out the color so you don't really get any harsh blending lines. Love! I can't wait to make backgrounds in any color combo I want!
The Quoted set comes with a few different companion sentiments, so for this card, I chose the "Have Faith" sentiment.
I stamped the leaves and branches in the same colors for both branches, but used a couple different colors for the actual berries. (Pure Poppy & Berry Sorbet) By making them a little different but still coordinated, it just adds a bit of visual interest while still looking fairly natural.
Ok, so I know the stamp set is called Beautiful Berries: Autumn BUT you can totally use these berry branches year round! I decided to stamp them in a purple combo and I love how sweet they look!
I stamped the leaves on the big branches in lavender moon, stamping each a couple times in my Misti, to darken the color. The berries were stamped with amethyst allure ink and the branches in cocoa bean. I love how you can mix and match the long branches with the two smaller branches, to create clusters in any shape you want!
I used the newest Mix & Mat die set to cut out the pinked edge layer and then stamped the sentiment using two different sets! The "Blessed" and "Thankful & Blessed" are both from the new Keep It Simple: Blessed set and the pretty bracket image is from Quoted: Right Moment. The little space in the bracket is the perfect place to tuck sentiments from lots of different sets, besides just the ones that are included in Quoted: Right Moment!
All right, that's it for me today but as always, Nichole Heady is sharing lots more from the team so you'll want to be sure to pop over there!
I'll be back later in the week with lots more from the Stencil Basics: Dots collection! Stay tuned!
