Hello there!
It's Throwback Thursday at Papertrey and this week, it's my turn to share! We've pulled out the Cutting Garden stamp set to give it some love! At the time that I designed the set, I didn’t actually have a cutting garden in real life (I dreamed of one!), but now that I do (see my Instagram or Twitter feed for pictures!), this set means even more to me! Being able to cut flowers right from your yard and bring them in the house is such a treat! But even if you can’t do that in real life, you can create all the paper flowers you want, with this pretty stamp set! Let me tell you about how I made this card....
For the flowers, I die cut several with the Cutting Garden dies and stamped them with Pale Peony ink. Then, I took some Pure Poppy ink and an ink blending tool and sponged on a bit of red ink, before stamping with my MISTI. I was able to lightly sponge on the color and repeat the stamping a few times, to intensify the color, without getting a harsh line from the edge of the blending tool's sponge. I also did the same technique on one of the leaves, starting with hawaiian shores ink, and adding some new leaf over the top, around the edges. So pretty!
The sentiment -- also from Cutting Garden -- was heat embossed with white embossing powder on smokey shadow card stock.
As for that background, I had some fun.....I heat embossed Cover Up: Diamonds on watercolor card stock and then used ink blending tools, to blend on Tropical Teal, Hawaiian Shores and New Leaf inks. Then, I splattered on some water droplets and let it dry. Once the water dried, I was able to pop everything together, easy peasy!
That's it for me today, but Nichole Heady is sharing more from the team, so you'll want to be sure and pop over there.
Do you have the Cutting Garden stamp set? Have you used it lately? Thinking about getting it out and giving it some love now? I hope you will! I'd love to see what you make!
Have a great day, friends....
