Heyyyy! I'm back today with one more post featuring this month's new releases at Papertrey Ink. First up today, is the Silver White Winters stamp set and dies. I used them in conjunction with the new Gift Card Cozy die, to create a cute little gift card holder. I also used the polka dot cut-out die from the Holiday Tag Along mini kit, to cut out the dots from the Gift Card Cozy and then backed it with a piece of luxe silver adhesive paper.
I used a couple of the Silver White Winters snowflake dies on that same adhesive paper and backed them each with white card stock, to make them a bit thicker and more stable. To do this, die cut the silver adhesive backed paper first. Then, peel off the paper backing leaving the silver adhesive snowflake IN the die cut and run it thru the die cut machine again, with the white card stock. It effectively sticks the silver paper to the white card stock and the result is a sturdy, shiny snowflake! Yay!
I stacked two different snowflakes on top of each other here, with just a bit of foam adhesive behind the center of each layer, to adhere them to the gift card holder.
On the back side of the holder, I first stamped and heat embossed both sentiments -- the top one from Gift Card Cozy Sentiments and the bottom from Silver White Winters -- with silver embossing powder. Then, I used the Stencil Basics: Dots stencil, to blend on some aqua mist ink. Such a simple way to dress it up without having to add any more layers!
And one more project for you today.....this one features the new Wine Bottle Tag #2 die, however I trimmed the circle top off and used it as a mat for my ornaments!
The sentiment banner at the top is also part of the Wine Bottle Tag #2 die collection (there are two sizes of banners) and the sentiment is one from Vintage Ornaments II. As you can see, I also added some dots with the Stencil Basics: Dots stencil on the kraft layer. However to do this, I just laid the stencil over the card stock and smooshed my versamark ink pad all over the stencil, so the ink smooshed thru the holes and onto the card stock!
I die cut and stamped the outline images on these ornaments from Vintage Ornaments II on watercolor card stock and then colored them in with Zig clean color real brush markers and a water brush. I added a snowflake and sequin from the Holiday Tag Along mini kit and then colored on some shimmer with my Wink of Stella brush pen.
At the bottom of the kraft layer, I added a layer of patterned paper (from the old new leaf pattern pack) that was die cut using the same Wine Bottle Tag #2 die. I simply trimmed off the sides to make it a bit more narrow than the kraft layer.
Ok, that's it for me today but I hope you've enjoyed this week's projects! You can find lots more inspiration from the team at Nichole Heady's blog!
