Hey friends!! It's Amazon Prime Day and I know that means a lot of you are already doing some Amazon shopping, and since I get questions regularly about which products I'm using or things that I'm wearing and loving, I thought I'd go ahead and share some of those with you here! Hopefully these links will make things a bit easier for you and hopefully you'll find a few new items to love for yourself!
As for hand lettering, here are some of my current favorites....and most of these are great for beginners, too, in case it's something you've kind of wanted to try your hand at. Get it?! Try your HAND at! Hahaha!
HANDLETTERING
Pentel Touch Brush Tip Pens These are my current favorite smaller brush tip pens! Love them and love all the colors!
Uchida Colorin Brush Markers - Brights These are my current favorite slightly larger brush tip pens. You can create wider disparity between your thick and thin lines with these pens, than you can with the Pentels above. And they come in great colors! I have the brights (shocker, I know!) and the pastels are the next ones on my list to buy! Colorin Brush Markers - Pastels Colorin Brush Markers - Naturals
Crayola Markers - Tropical Colors These are great if you want a really affordable option to start out with, though the tips make them a bit harder to work with than the two sets I shared above. These just take a little more practice.
Calligraphy Made Easy I not only bought this book for myself, but also got a copy for my sister, who'd been wanting to try some brush lettering. It's got lots of practice pages to get you started and shows you exactly how to create each stroke. Lots of helpful tips in this one! I'm currently working (writing) my way through this one in the evenings in front of the TV with Bartley!
Canson Marker Paper If you want a great paper that won't fray your brush tips, this one is made specifically for writing on with markers. I got this for my birthday!
Strathmore Tracing Paper I've told you about this one before....you can print out free practice sheets on the internet, lay this tracing paper over the top of the practice sheets and write on this paper. That way, you can use your practice sheets over and over!
BOOKS
In regard to books, you can get an extra $5 off a $20 book purchase with code PRIMEBOOKS18 today! AND, they've even got a deal for those of us who buy Kindle books -- Prime members get 30% of the purchase price as credit toward their next Kindle eBook. SO, I know a bunch of you are always asking me for book recommendations! Remember that you can always refer back to my previous book review posts, in case there are books there that you didn't get a chance to buy yet. I've shared lots of favorites there!
Here are a few of my recent purchases....I'm always excited to keep learning how to get better at what I do, so these books are great for just getting started and also for honing your craft!
GIFTS
These next few items, we bought for a gift for a book lover in our family! They're so cute alone OR together!!
FASHION
So, I'm loving kimonos lately! I've been given a couple in the last few years and really like wearing them, so I went on the hunt for a couple more! I recently got both of these and am loving them! They're so easy to just throw on over a t-shirt or tank top and jeans and really make it look you tried a lot harder than you did! LOL! And also, let me just say that the photo of the turquoise one doesn't remotely do it justice. The colors and florals on it in real life are STUNNING! I gasped out loud when I opened the package! And the best part is, these are both totally affordable!!
I love the earrings that Joanna Gaines is always wearing on Fixer Upper, but I've found it really hard to get them in the Magnolia store because they're often sold out! So again, I went on the hunt for a comparable option and bonus -- these are a lot cheaper, besides! (I'm wearing the silver ones in my Instagram Stories today!)
Silver Genuine Leather Earrings
Genuine Leather Earrings - black & brown
These gray lounge pants were sent to me by a dear friend when I was recovering in D.C., after my transplant. They literally feel like BUTTAH on! Haha! They're sooo comfy, I bought the black ones, too! Love 'em both!
I also had to buy quite a few pairs of leggings while I was recovering, because of the 12" scar down my belly/abdomen! SO, these are one of the pairs I got and they're great because not only are they sooooooo soft, but they go with a lot, since they're just black and white. But you know me, I love it when there's a floral pattern involved, too! ;) Side note: I don't wear heels with mine!! LOL!!!!
MISC
Ok, so these are random, but these are a couple of Bartley's favorites! He loves the Hydrox because they're totally old school -- he remembers them from when he was a kid. And also, no stores around here carry them! So we buy a case of them (6 packages) every so often and they last awhile, of course, but he gets to enjoy them while we have them!
And to balance out the cookies, here's his current favorite protein bar! LOL! He's buff, that man of mine {insert heart eyes emoji!}, and this is one of the reasons why! He work out, drinks protein shakes and eats his protein bars and eats a reasonably healthy diet! :)
So there you go.....hope that helps to answer any product questions you might have had lately! Certainly, if there's anything else you've seen on my Instagram feed that you've been wondering about, let me know! Leave me a comment here or on Instagram!
Happy shopping, friends!
