Hey, Friends! It's Throwback Thursday at Papertrey Ink and this week, we're focusing on Enclosed: Cupcake! When I designed these stamps and dies, it was with the idea that you could certainly use them for birthdays, but also for other occasions, too. Gotta say, it's been way too long since I last pulled this baby out and played with it!
You know how nowadays, you can decorate cupcakes in real life, with just about anything you can dream up? So why not take that same approach with our paper cupcakes?! I had a ton of fun dressing up this mint chocolate chip cupcake (Haha!) with a pile of pretty flowers, a candle and of course, a cherry on top!

I die cut the cupcake from vintage jadeite card stock and added the frosting dimension with the coordinating ink, as well as my chocolate chip sprinkles with dark chocolate ink. I cut out the cupcake liner from dark chocolate and stamped it with the coordinating image and dark chocolate ink. I love how realistic that cupcake liner looks!!
So you know how I've been approaching every stamp set lately.....I die cut and then stamped lots of flowers and leaves from Stitching Garden. This allows me to really pile on the flowers however they work, mixing and matching until I'm happy with the arrangement, without me trying to guess that before having everything stamped. I don't feel chintzy when piling them on, when I have lots of them to pick from, and the end result is usually a way more lush and beautiful card! And also, I just figure that all the leftover bits that I don't use right now, are just an investment in a future card-making session, because I'll have flowers and leaves stamped and ready to roll! It's really made card-making so much more fun for me lately!
Of course, I put my cupcake on a pair of Scallop Stackers: Large die cuts. At the top of the pink layer, I stamped the large "Celebrate" from Enclosed: Cupcake in pure poppy ink and popped the whole thing on a kraft card base.
Hope this has inspired you to bust out some of your older stamps and dies and give 'em some love! Do you already have Enclosed: Cupcake? What about Stitching Garden? Have you ever paired them together? And what about those Scallop Stackers dies? Did you snag those from this latest release? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Have a great Thursday, friends!
