Hey, friends! Welcome, welcome! Man, I wish I could invite you in for a cup of foamy coffee in a vintage mug and we could sit around the kitchen table and talk about this month's Papertrey new release goodies! Since we can't do that in person, this is the next best thing so go grab a cuppa and get cozy. I'm excited to share about today's product features.....(hint there are fall-ish floral-y type stamps involved, so you know I had fun with today's projects!).
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on August 15 at 10pm EST.

So for this first card, GAH.....soooo fun to make it! I started out with Betsy Veldman's new Seasonal Borders: Autumn stamps and the coordinating stencil that you can use as a guide to stamp the borders directly on your card front. So I did that twice, stamping a border strip on either side of the card.
Then, I used her new Shape Shifters: Circle 3 die to cut out the terracotta tile layer. Thing is, I didn't want the circle die cut to cover up all of that beautiful stamping, so I simply trimmed off both sides of the circle die, to create this pretty oblong shape! Don't be afraid to use your die cuts in different ways, to suit your card's design! Cut a bit off if you need to!
I used the new Say It Simply: Wishing You a Lovely Birthday die to cut out the white sentiment layer and adhered it to the terracotta layer with some spray adhesive.
Next, I popped the terracotta layer on a strip of dark chocolate card stock and behind that are two strips of scallops that were created with the new Scallop Stackers: Small die! Again, don't be afraid to cut up those die cuts and use them in different ways! You get way more bang for your buck that way!

Ahhh, the colors on this card make me happy. They still have elements of bright and cheery with the peach and turquoise, but in a more muted, fall-ish kinda way. So, I used the same Seasonal Borders: Autumn stamp set and the same Shape Shifters: Circle 3 dies to create this card!
I started with an aqua mist panel of card stock and used two of the dies from the new Shape Shifters collection, to cut out the circle of dots and the leaves. I layered that panel on a ripe avocado card base. I wanted a sentiment that would be meaningful but also, that wouldn't cover up all those pretty die cut leaves and acorns, so I pulled out this thin "Praying for you" from the previously released Family Ties stamp set (it's linked below, in case you don't remember this one....it's been a little while since it came out!) and stamped the sentiment on a thin strip of cream card stock.
I used the Seasonal Borders: Autumn stamps and dies to cut out both the little accent elements and these pretty border strips. By stamping these strips in my misti, it was a fairly quick process. Deciding on colors was the hardest part! I do recommend stamping this one out first on a scrap strip of paper, so you can see how the colors are gonna work together - or not - since there are so many overlapping and intertwined elements here. That way, you'll know for sure that you love your choices before you stamp them on your die cuts.
So, like I said, I cut both of the border strips out and then I used a strip of score-tape at the top edge of each layer to adhere them to the card front. And then I fluffed the bottom edges forward, to create a ruffled skirt effect. So cute and such an easy way to add some additional dimension and interest.
And if these ruffles are the skirt, then I guess I put a belt on it with the strip of tropical teal card stock! Haha!

Ok, so one more for today. I should mention that since I knew ahead of time that I was going to need to create three cards with Seasonal Borders and with the new Shape Shifters die, I again did what I've been preaching every month.....I die cut lots of pieces and shape shifter frames and then I stamped the borders and other die cuts in lots of different colors and combinations of colors. I'm telling you, the cards are muuuuch faster and easier to make when you have a ready-made pile of pretties just waiting for you to mix and match and add to your cards. They practically make themselves!
So in the case of this card, I started by using one of the Stencil Basics: Diamonds stencils to add some ripe avocado diamonds to the hawaiian shores card base, using a heavier hand with the ink at the top and getting lighter the farther down I went. I let the color fade out to nothing at the bottom, for a nice gradual fade.
I took that pile of Shape Shifters die cuts and stamped a sentiment from Never Enough: Birthday on a saffron spice layer, using both saffron spice ink and dark chocolate ink (for the bottom line). I took one of the white die cuts and cut the top and bottom off. I adhered those top and bottom pieces to the back of the saffron layer, peeking up just a bit and creating a mat layer of sorts. It really helps the saffron layer to visually pop off the card front!
I used several of the die cut elements from my pile of pretties, to accent the sentiment here. By having several stamped and ready, I was able to play around with the combination and placement till I was happy with it.
All right, gotta run for now, but the Papertrey Blog has lots more for you to see today!
