Hey there!
It's time for my September Favorite Things post but since I've got so many fun finds for you this month, I decided to split it up into a couple posts for you, to keep things a little more organized! My favorite things pretty much run the gamut this month, and include everything from the usual pens & paper goodies, to fashion & beauty items, and even some men's items this month! Wanna see????
How about we start off with the BEAUTY category!
Lorac Front of the Line Pro Eyeliner This eyeliner is my favorite and I've been using it for a year or two now. Well, not this exact tube of it! LOL! But you know what I mean! I've bought several of these over the last couple of years and haven't found another one that I like better. It stays put throughout the day, is easy to apply and you can get a pretty thin line or create a pretty wing (if you've got better skills than me! Haha!). I've used the black the most, but they were out of black, the last time I was at Ulta, so I got charcoal instead. That's what I'm wearing now and have liked it, too. It's obviously not as dramatic as the black, but I think that's what I actually really like about it. You can find it at Amazon, too.
Benefit Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation I found a new foundation that they'd just come out with a couple months ago, when I went to the store to get more foundation. And since I hadn't been super in love with my previous foundation, I decided to give this one a try. I've been really pleased with it. Light-medium coverage without feeling caked on at all. I wear shade #2, if that's helpful to you at all. I don't get much sun these days, because the anti-rejection meds have made me really sensitive to the sun. So to avoid a splotchy rash and having to take benedryl, I stick to staying in the shade as much as possible! Ha!
FASHION...
So, another result of having been so sick for so long and having lost so much weight and now being in the process of gaining some of that much-needed weight back, means that I've had to buy some new clothes here and there. I don't know what size I'm gonna end up at, so I haven't wanted to spend a lot on any one piece, so most of my things these days have come from Old Navy or Target or the like. I've recently gotten a few really cute tops that I've gotten a lot of compliments on, so I thought they might interest you, too.
Sleeveless Smocked-Yoke Swing Top in blue/white
Sleeveless Smocked-Yoke Swing Top in magenta You might have seen me wearing these in videos recently. I got the same top in this blue/white print and also in a solid pink. It's super comfortable.....one of those you-don't-have-to-suck-anything-in kind of tops! The best kind of top, right? Haha!
Ruffle-Neck Crinkle-Crepe Swing Blouse - Black and Cream Here's another one I got in two colors -- both the black and cream. I'm a big believer in buying the same item in more than one color, if it fits you well and you love it! These tops are more no-need-to-suck-in tops, because they're flowy and they hide everything! LOL. I'm a fan. I bought two! ;) I got mine when they were having a big holiday sale.
Super Long Open Front Sweater And with fall coming, I couldn't resist this great cardigan. I've already been wearing it here and there, because I don't know about where you live, but around here, even if it's hot outside, it's usually freezing in all the stores and restaurants! Haha. I've been loving this one, as a great transition piece, as the weather is starting to get just a bit cooler. Oh, and I got the "new heather gray", but it does come in a few other colors.
Short Sleeve Vintage V-neck T-shirt These are my current favorite t-shirts.....I have them in several colors, many of which you've probably seen in my Stories videos over the last few months. This is part of my standard work uniform for working at home! Ha! Give me a comfy t-shirt, a favorite pair of jeans and I'm a happy camper! They happen to be on clearance right now, too, so it's a good time to grab a few while you can! They're less than $6 each!
PENS & PAPER...
Up & Up Mechanical Pencils I don't know if you saw my post recently on instagram, about the big box of rainbow colored mechanical pencils I bought at Target, with the intent to woo the hearts of the small children in our life with them! LOL. But these are those pencils. Seriously, they're 10 CENTS each! I couldn't pass that up, not with as many little people as we have in the family! And you should have seen their little eyes light up when I took that box of mechanical pencils to our family get-together earlier this week, and told them all they could pick out three each and they'd be their very own and they didn't even have to share with their siblings! Hahaha! It's the little things, friends! Best 5 bucks I've spent in awhile! :)
Sketchbook Two-Pack So you may have seen these popping up in my photos here and there on instagram in recent months, too! These were a gift for my birthday in June, and they're soooo darn pretty! They are not lined, so they're great for sketching out card designs and other project notes that you want to remember to try out during your next crafty session! For $5, you can't beat 'em!
Stabilo Pens - 25 pack These pretty pens were a gift to me when I was in D.C., from one of my dear followers and I was so surprised and thrilled to have been given them. There are so many great colors! And whether you want more than 25 or less than 25, there are lots of great sets of these that you can buy. You can also buy them individually at Michaels now!
FOR THE GUYS...
Fossil Men's Coachman Quartz Stainless Steel and Leather Chronograph Watch Bart is one of those guys who is really hard to shop for. There's not much that he really NEEDS, or if he needs it, we get it when he needs it. And there's not much that he WANTS because he's pretty low-maintenance and doesn't even really have hobbies that require any money spent on them. He loves sports, so as long as he can watch all of that on tv, he's pretty much set! Haha. BUT, I'd gotten him a watch years ago, that was starting to look pretty worn. Granted, he's got other watches and he kind of rotates through them depending on what else he's wearing that day. But we both really liked that watch that was definitely looking like it'd seen better days, so I knew I wanted to find him some sort of replacement in a similar style. This Fossil watch is what I ended up getting him for his birthday last month, and he wears it ALL the time now, which makes me so happy, because I know that means he really likes it! And bonus, Amazon had it for nearly half off, compared to the Fossil website!
Giorgio Armani Code Profumo for Men Also, here's the cologne that Bart has been wearing for several years now. It's yum! That's all I'm sayin'... :)
Let me know if you'd like to see more guy items......I was thinking it might be helpful for you, if I put together a "men's gift guide" to help out with your holiday shopping this year. I'd love to know if that's something you'd like to see!
I hope you'll pop back in next week, because I've got another Favorite Things post for you, but this one's all about some new home decor items I've added around here lately! It's been so fun to feel well enough to even think about such things! So I'll share some of my fun finds with you! That's on Monday, and then on Tuesday, I've got a long-awaited Book Report post for you! Y'all have been so sweet to keep asking for book recommendations, so Tuesday is the day! I've even got posts coming for you Wednesday and Thursday, too, so it's gonna be a fun week! Stay tuned!
Hope you have a great weekend, friends!
P.S. For those of you who are in the path of the hurricane or who are dealing with even just the hassles of all the travel issues and such that it's creating, know that you've been in my prayers the last couple of days and I'm sending love. Praying for safety for you all! Much love....
