To make this first card, I pulled out a piece of watercolor card stock and painted it with some acrylic paints. I used watercolor card stock because I wanted it to hold up to the weight and moisture of the paints and it worked like a charm! I used five different Martha Stewart colors (linked below) and just brushed them on with a wide, dry brush. I made a few passes with the red paint at the top of the card, then wiped off the brush with a not-so-wet wet wipe, before dipping into the next color and on and on. It was super fast and easy, not very messy at all (bonus!) and created such a stunning color display! Can't wait to do more of this! (Also, if this is something you'd like to see in a Make It Monday video, let me know in the comments. I could make a video of this if it'd be helpful!)
After the piece was dry, which by the way, didn't take super long at all, I ran it through the die cut machine with the new Say It Simply die and then popped all the pieces on a white card base. Once that was done, I used two Damask Snowflake die cuts that were stacked and glued together, to accent the sentiment. These three snowflake "sections" on the card, all came from one pair of die cuts!
One thing to note about the paints: I linked the Martha Stewart paints I used below, but the two links are for multiple colors. So, if you click the metallic paint link, you're going to want the color Brushed Bronze. And if you click the satin paint link, just use the drop down menu to find these four colors: Habanero, Love Bird, Party Streamer and Snow Pea. Hope that helps!

Next up is Lizzie's newest Glorious Globes set, which includes these cute little wreaths. I knew I wanted to use this sentiment from my previously released Season's Greetings set because it goes so well with the globes. And also because I haven't used Season's Greetings in awhile and there are so many great sentiments in that set! Haha! So, I die cut three globes and three wreaths to top them with and stamped them up.
I also die cut some aqua mist card stock with the Scallop Stackers: Medium die and used the new Sweet Stitching Impression Plate next, with a standard EMBOSSING sandwich, to add some pretty embossed detail. All that was left to do was stamp the sentiment and pop everything into place.

Ok, so this card really just came about because of extra die cut pieces I had laying on my desk! Remember that first painted card? When I die cut the sentiment, this is what popped out. And of course, on that first card, I used the negative piece of card stock that I'd die cut from. So I had to put a card together with the actual die cut itself, right? :)
I added a couple more wreaths from Glorious Globes and layered it all on Betsy's new Shape Shifters: Oval 3 die cut. So pretty!
And of course, behind the white die cut, you can see that I embossed more Sweet Stitching on the pure poppy card base. I just love that added bit of detail.
For the paints I used on this card, remember that the same applies here, as did on the first card I showed. All of the paint colors will be the same as that first card, but you can find them at the links below.

Ok, and in case you thought the Shape Shifters: Oval 3 dies were only good for using on a card, think again! They make darling jumbo tags! die cut a solid layer for each, as well as a second layer that I also used the plaid die on, to cut out the openings in the centers. I stacked up the layers and even sandwiched an extra plaid layer in between the two, on the aqua mist tag. So fun!
And if you've been following along on my Instagram, then you saw me stamping lots of Cozy Christmas thermoses last week! I put them all to use here! When the set first came out in 2016, I was in the hospital for like 3-1/2 weeks or so, and I missed being able to really use and showcase this set. I was soooo bummed because I'd been sooooo excited to use this one! It's inspired by my actual vintage thermos collection, after all! (Side note: Stay tuned for some vintage thermos inspiration coming soon to my Instagram! I'm getting ready to re-style my thermoses for fall and I can't wait to share with you!)
Anyhoozie....I just mixed and matched thermoses and lids and even some little snowflakes from the set, just having fun. I didn't even worry about adding a sentiment to the front of the tags, because I didn't want to cover up too much of that super cute plaid detail!
I just tied a bit of twine onto each, through the openings at the top. So fast and easy, but golly, so striking! Won't these be so dang cute on a gift bag or wrapped box for Christmas?!!
Man, I love making fun gift tags!!! You can totally use a plain gift bag, even kraft bags that you can buy in bulk. But they look a gajillion times cuter, when dressed up with a handmade custom gift tag and some ribbon or a big tulle bow!
On the back of each, I did add some little tags that I die cut from one of the Noted die sets, and I stamped it with a pair of sentiments from Made With Love. This allows me to write the to/from info or a little note to my recipient on the back.
Do you make your own Christmas cards or tags? Do you have a favorite item to make? Do you actually USE them? Hahaha! I'd love to hear from you!
I'm off for now, but don't forget that there's tons more inspiration for you today at the Papertrey Blog!
See you tomorrow, friends!
