Hiii, friends! It's time for another Simple To Spectacular feature at Papertrey Ink and it's my turn to share! This week, we're pulling out the Tea For Two stamps and dies, and I wanted to use them in a little different way than I have in the past.
So for the super simple card, I used my Scalloped Stackers: Medium dies on a piece of smokey shadow card stock. I ran it through the die cutting machine with an embossing sandwich, to impress those fun scallops directly into the card front. After that, I stamped a teapot and the tea label with fresh snow ink, as well as a sentiment from Never Enough: Thanks. Then, I used an ink blending tool and some more fresh snow ink, to add a slight dusting of ink here and there, allowing it to slightly smudge the stamping in a few places....to add to the chalkboard effect. Lastly, I used a white colored pencil and a ruler, to add a few simple lines inside the Scalloped frame.
For the stepped up card, I went ahead and die cut the scalloped layer this time and popped it on a vintage linen card base. I stamped more Never Enough: Thanks sentiments and the tea label again. This time, I die cut and stamped the tea pot and layered some fall-colored Farmer's Market Florals.
And for the super stepped up version, I used a second scalloped layer of terracotta tile card stock behind the "chalkboard" layer. I stamped more thank you sentiments and the tea label again, and added more ink "chalk dust", as well as more pencil lines to frame things out. And this time, I piled on the florals because.....why not?! Haha! I love how this one turned out!
I don't think I've ever used Tea For Two on a Fall-ish card, but I sure do love the effect!
I also think it was such a fun exercise in really getting the creative juices flowing, to start really simple and then think about how I could step it up and then step it up again. If you're feeling kind of stuck creatively, I'd encourage you to pick one stamp set (such as Tea For Two!), and challenge yourself in the same way! I think you'll be surprised what you can come up with! And now, I'm inspired to dive in again, and get some more crafting done as well!
Be sure to check out the Papertrey Blog for lots more Tea For Two inspiration! Do you have this set in your collection? Have you ever used it on Fall-inspired cards? What about chalkboard cards....have you ever made any of those? They're so fun!
Hope you have a great day!
