Hey, there! Welcome, welcome! Come on in and get comfy. I've got a couple fun projects to share with you today for the Papertrey Countdown! Today, we're focusing on the new Warmer Together stamp set by Betsy and the next installment in the Glorious Globes series by Lizzie Jones. To get things started, let me tell you about this happy little penguin card!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on October 15 at 10pm EST.
These penguins are from Betsy's new Warmer Together set, as well as the sentiment I used here. Good grief, leave it to Betsy to create darling penguins that are so dang cute without being cutesy! Know what I mean? I love things that are cute but I don't need them to be cutesy.....I like them to be cute with a bit of class! Haha! I think she achieved just that with these adorable little dears!
So I stamped the various images (body and head) in smokey shadow ink and then stamped their feet and beaks in summer sunrise. Then, I used a couple of my Zig markers to add a hint of orange and some bright yellow to their chests, to make them kinda like the real penguins I saw when I googled penguins. LOL. You know how you automatically know what colors an animal is, but then when you start to stamp all the various pieces, you're like, "Wait. Where exactly is all the black and white and where does the bit of yellow go?" Haha! Anyhoooo, I love how my little penguin family turned out and man, they were easy!
So the sentiment is two separate stamps from the set and above and below the hawaiian shores panel, I added some strips of the new Bold Borders: Flurries die. To create those, I lightly blended some tropical teal ink a piece of aqua mist card stock, keeping the teal only on one end of the paper. Then, I die cut it with the new Bold Borders die and cut the two long sides off, thus turning the rectangle frame into two strips. I need to do this more often. It's a fun way to change up the look of a rectangle frame and get even more use out of those dies. They don't always have to be used in the exact way they were designed!! Again, more bang for your buck this way! I love options!
Oh, and I used spray adhesive (and my dedicated adhesive-only tweezers), which made quick work of adhering those delicate strips! (I linked those items below, for those who are interested.)

One more for today! For this one, I started out with a kraft card base and layered a basic bookmark 2 die cut on it, in pure poppy card stock.
I die cut the new Shape Shifters: Square 3 from black card stock and brushed my white ink pad along the edges of the birch branch border, to mimic the lines on a real birch. I used an ink blending tool in the center of the frame, with a bit more white ink, to give it more of a chalk-board-y feel. I also used a white colored pencil (linked below) to draw a simple frame inside the frame die cut.
I die cut the "peace" from Betsy's new Words to Live By: Peace from pure poppy card stock, and stamped a companion sentiment from the stamp set, to finish off the "peace on earth" phrase.
I used the globe bases from the Glorious Globes: Basics set on these new Glorious Globes: October die cuts, and then stamped the "peace" globe centers, topped with several new wreaths and flowers from the new October set as well. I used a variety of green inks to stamp the wreaths and then used a red Zig marker, to add in a few red dots for berries.
