Heyyyyy! Ok, so today's post is just ridiculously fun! Lol! Betsy designed another cutie to go with her Potbellies series, and this time, it's a unicorn! Pretty much the most popular thing on the planet right now for little girls, right? Or maybe it's a tie with mermaids?? Hahaha! So, you can now make all your little girls' dreams come true, by making them chubby little unicorns of all sorts and colors! :)
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on January 15 at 10pm EST.
For my unicorn girl, I die cut her body from kraft card stock and her little nose portion, hair, ear inserts, hooves, and wings from watercolor card stock, and then used three Ecoline liquid watercolors in 334, 350 and 545, to color them all. (I linked a basic set for you below, but these are the specific colors I used here.) When they were dry, I used a Wink of Stella pen to add some subtle shimmer (because so much about this unicorn is subtle -- hahaha!) and then glued all the pieces together.
I die cut the unicorn horn from adhesive gold paper and just peeled the paper backing off a bit of the bottom of the horn, to adhere it to her hair.
On the card base, I used one of the stencils from my Stencil Basics: Diamonds, to add some summer sunrise ink-blended diamonds for the background. I kept the color darker and more intense at the top of the card and let it fade out to nothing at the bottom. I love how that pop of yellow gold looks on the white!
I used the new Words to Live By: Smile die, to die cut the "smile" and then stamped the two companion sentiments on a Skinny Mini Banner die cut, and directly on the belly itself. I popped up the belly with some foam adhesive, for a bit of extra dimension.
So, I told ya this was a fun one! Haha! What do you think? Will you be making chubby unicorns sometime soon??? :)
