Hey, Friends! I'm popping in today, to show you a couple more projects featuring new goodies from the January Papertrey release, starting with the next in the Glorious Globes series! I decided to go a completely different direction and make a sort of jumbo polka-dotted card, rather than a globe card. That's the nice thing about these little $5 sets....Lizzie designed them to be pretty versatile, so you can do more with them than just globes specifically!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on January 15 at 10pm EST.
I started out by stamping a piece of pale peony card stock with the "love" dots and then added the "Makes the world go round" sentiments to each one. Such a sweet and simple way to create your own background! After I had all the stamping done, I die cut the whole panel with the Noted: Scalloped Square die and popped it on the white card base.
To create a fun focal point, I just die cut three of the same Delicates die cuts from pure poppy, berry sorbet and pale peony card stocks, stacked them up and topped them with a button and some twine. Love how that looks!

Ok, so on this next card, I really just wanted to have some fun with color and did a bit of experimenting and playing around with some new liquid watercolors and alcohol inks and in the end, I'm really pleased with how this turned out. I used three specific liquid watercolors from the Ecoline line -- 334, 350 and 545. I linked a basic set of 10 for you below, so you can see what type of inks I'm referring to, but the ones I got for Christmas are these specific pink, red and purple colors I just listed for you.
I used some water and a paintbrush along with these liquid watercolors, to paint an entire panel of watercolor card stock....just moving the color around and layering it until I was happy with it. Then, I dropped on some brass alcohol ink and heat set it with my heat tool, before then stamping the sentiment from the new Sentiment Staples: Just a Note on top. Note: I used Ranger Archival ink to stamp on the watercolor card stock, so it would be that deep, rich black that I knew I wanted, which can be hard to achieve on watercolor card stock. This particular black is the one I always reach for when stamping on watercolor paper, and even still, you can see in the next photo, that it's not super dark directly on the gold portion. That doesn't bother me, but it's something to note, in case it does you. You'd just want to be really specific about where you put the gold ink in relation to where your sentiment will be stamped.
I die cut my entire watercolored panel with Lizzie's new Bold Borders: Arabesque die and kept the center portion to hold the sentiment. I popped that up with foam adhesive and then die cut another strip of white card stock with a Skinny Mini Banners die because, once again, it's the perfect size to coordinate with all the little companion sentiments from the Sentiment Staples sets! I love that!!
I love how the gold catches the light, even on the arabesque portion of the card....such a pretty, shiny detail in real life!
