Hey, Friends! I've got a fun post for you today for Papertrey Ink! It's Transformation Tuesday and when it comes to these TT projects, sometimes I like to take a different approach and use it as an opportunity to take a card design from the past that I've loved, and remake it to suit a new need. In this case, I'm making some post-Christmas thank you cards, and used this design from last summer in a fresh, new way with some wintery colors! I love this look and the ability to repurpose a favorite card for a new season!
Here's the original card....
I love the fresh color scheme, the subtle white flowers on the background, the detail behind the sentiment and the way I cut the bookmark die cut in two and flipped the top around, which allowed me to "stretch" it and make it look a bit longer, because the bottom portion is just barely tucked under the top piece.
I did the same trick on the new card, but instead of cutting a straight strip of card stock, I added a Skinny Mini Banner die cut.....because we have those cute dies now! Didn't have them last summer! ;)
And while this is a sort of wintery card, I still used that same Floral Sketches stamp set on the background. I think it still has a bit of a wintery feel when used in relation to the other details on this card.
I did some ink blending on the same sentiment as on the original card, with pure poppy ink at the top, hibiscus burst in the middle and raspberry fizz at the bottom. And of course this time, instead of stamping the grid on the bookmark panel, I got that extra bit of detail from a Delicates die cut, which gives a pretty snowflake effect.
If you've got a card that you love, why not repurpose it and use it again with some fresh new details?! If you want to play along with this week's Transformation Tuesday at the Papertrey Blog, we'd sure love to have you! I can't wait to see what you make!
Thanks for dropping in, friends! Happy Tuesday!
