Hey Friends!! Happy FRIDAY!! Who else kind of breathes a sigh of relief when we get to the weekends now, and maybe for different reasons than you used to?!!
It's my turn to share a project for TGIF at The Greetery, and it gave me the perfect excuse to make some pretty thank you cards!!
I've been going through quite a few thank you notes lately, as I've been tucking them into artwork I've been shipping out! So I decided I'd better beef up my stash of thank yous, and these cards fit the bill perfectly! And because they really just consist of four main elements, they're so easy to put together. They're even the perfect type of card you could create elements for, while hanging out in front of the TV or maybe out on the deck with your family! All you need is a background, a big focal element, an eye-catching sentiment and a simple die cut to separate the focal items from the background. The really fun part about these, is that you can put them together in a wide array of color combinations, like I'm sharing today! Create your focal elements in whatever colors you can dream up, and then let those colors be the same ones you use on your background and sentiment. Easy peasy!
So, you may remember that I made a big stack of these floral die cuts awhile back. I pulled a few of them out, and let them determine what colors I stamped on the background of each card. I used the Painterly Stripes stamp to create these plaid backgrounds. I LOVE stamping those in multiple colors! They're so fun! Just stamp the stripes in one direction, then re-ink and turn your paper 90* before stamping again!
I die cut some Nordic Frames panels, to serve as a landing pad for the sentiment and florals.
PRO TIP: When you've got a really busy background and a busy focal element, break up the busy-ness, by separating them a little with some solid color. Here, I chose white. It just gives the eye a place to rest, and makes it easier for each element to really shine! If you look at these cards in particular, if I'd NOT done this, the lines of the sentiment would have totally gotten lost in the lines of the background!
I also pulled out the Written In Ribbons stamps and dies and used the same colors as on the florals, to stamp the multi-colored sentiments.
Popping all of the pieces together was all that was left! Seriously, you could totally make these in batches, and you could even swap out the sentiment for whatever else you might be needing. I love how simple and yet how beautiful these turned out!

Hope I've given you a bit of a nudge to create something yourself today! Do you already have these items in your stash to work with? Or did they maybe just climb up a step on your wish list? :)
Happy weekend, friends! I'll chat with you again soon!
