Hey Friends! Welcome back! It's officially release day at The Greetery! However, the release doesn't go live in their store, until 10am ET. So until then, I've got a few more projects to show you, that I hope will help you finalize your wish list, or just give you some more ideas for what to do with your new goodies, when they arrive on your doorstep!
First up, is this cutie S'mores card! Goodness, these are fun! I knew for the background, I wanted a red plaid of some sort, to give that cozy Fall flannels feel. So I grabbed the Square Dance die, and cut out a layer of white and another of red. I layered them on a kraft card base and I love that look! I can totally envision a plaid flannel in a similar color scheme!
Next, I used the new Graham Cracker Cuts die, to cut out my graham cracker layer. The thing is though, I didn't want to cover up quite so much of my background on this one. So, that leads me to a PRO TIP for you!
PRO TIP: You can create smaller graham crackers, simply by tearing along the perforation that the die creates!! I tore the full sized graham cracker in half and stacked them, to layer my focal point on! So fun and simple!
I stamped up the marshmallows as well as the sentiment elements, using stamps and dies from S'more Holiday, to finish this one off!

Next up, I've created a pair of cards to show you how you can use the exact same elements and create two totally different looks, simply based on your placement of those items!
This side by side view, gives you a better look at what I mean!
First up, is a very layered card, but on this one, all of the layers on the background are totally squared up.
PRO TIP: Lest you think the Graham Cracker Cuts die can only be used to cut out graham crackers, think again! This one works great in any color, as a layering element behind your focal point! Did you spot it here?
NOTE: It also layers PERFECTLY on the Postal Frames dies!!
I layered a wood slice die cut and the sentiment in the middle of the card, so this one is nice and straight and traditional in it's layout.
And thennnnn, I made another one using all of the exact same things! But this time, I tipped all of the layers back and forth, and adjusted everything to the left side of the card! What a difference, right? All of a sudden, you see a LOT more of that rich emerald green!
I trimmed off the bits of the layers that overhung off the left edge of the card, and then I layered the same focal elements and sentiment.
Notice that the "Merry" sentiment is positioned diagonally on this one. And to keep with the left alignment, I put all of the florals to the left.
So, of course I have to ask you, which version do you prefer? The straight one or the left aligned one?
I hope this has given you some ideas regarding your own card layouts! You may have a few go-to layouts, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that! BUT, you might also want to change it up now and again! What if next time you sit down with the pile of elements you want to use on a card, you tried positioning things a little differently than you normally do? You just might come away with a few new go-to layouts, and hopefully that stretching of your creativity will provide you with some fun crafty time, as well!
