Hey friends, it's release day at The Greetery! The new Man Made collection will be available beginning at 10am EDT, so in just a few hours from when this post goes live! I've got three more cards to share with you today, so how about we start with the guy cards?
First up, is another really cute set called Dad Jokes: Nailed It! I thought it'd be fun to make my handyman hubby a lovey card, and this set was perfect!
Notice that the new Big Plans background stamp works perfectly with the theme of the Nailed It set! I also added another background strip, using a nails stamp from the set, that I just stamped repeatedly to create the little diamond pattern.
PRO TIP: Remember that you can use nearly any small image found in a set, to create a background pattern, simply by stamping the image in a repeating pattern! So simple and it can really reiterate your card's theme and add some extra interest at the same time!
For the hammer, I did the same thing that I did on the fork and knife I showed you yesterday. I stamped the hammer handle (it's a two stamp image to add some woodgrain texture) in browns, and then heat embossed the head with silver embossing powder. So fun!
The sentiments are both from Dad Jokes: Nailed It, and to finish this one off, I added a few die cut nails from the set, as an accent.

Next up, I used the other set of new stencils on this background.....this one is Tartan Builder Diagonal. I paired it with the new Dad Squared stamps and die, to make my dad a card for Father's Day!
That die makes it so simple to create a lovely focal point with your sentiment. I stamped the DAD using two different colors of ink that I used in the background plaid.
PRO TIP: To soften the ink on the first layer of the DAD so that your second layer really shows up well, stamp off first before stamping on the die cut. The other thing this does, is allows the "love you" to really show up, when stamped in a dark color.
I used all five of the stencils in the set, using a different color with each stencil. You could literally create thousands of different plaid combos with these stencils! How fun is that?! If your guy is a plaid shirt kinda guy, you could even recreate some of his shirts as your background, with these stencils!
PRO TIP: So that your focal sentiment doesn't get lost in the busy background, break up the pattern a bit, by placing a strip of card stock behind your sentiment. This gives the eye a place to land, and doesn't let the background peek through all the openings on the DAD letters, thus making it harder to read.

And one more for today.....can't have an entire post with no pink or flowers, can we? Haha!
I told you I loved that Big Plans background but I fell in love with it even more when I stamped it in red ink on pink card stock!! GAH!
I used the Text Box die again, paired with more sentiments from Sentiments Squared, to create the focal point and then accented it with more flowers from my die cut stash!
