Hello there! How is your summer going, friends? I hope you're doing well and have been able to squeeze in some creative time in recent weeks! And I hope to bring you some fun inspiration today, using the new Capturing Summer collection that's coming to The Greetery in just two short days! All of the new releases will be available Wednesday morning, July 14 at 10am EDT.
First up, I've got a sweet little lightening bug card that would be so cute for your littles! It features the new Firefly Nights stamp set, the Fireflies die and the Shining Light die. These would make cute little cards to tuck into suitcases when sending your kiddo off to camp, or even as lunchbox notes for school or just a sweet lovey note to brighten their day!
To create those fun little lightening bugs, I first die cut the bugs from white card stock.
PRO TIP: Put washi tape on the back of the negative die cut, and then place the die cut bugs back in the negative card stock, so they stick to the washi on the back. Then, you can spray the whole die cut (negative and bugs) with spray adhesive and top with the Glow Powder! Having the bugs in the negative portion, makes them much easier to hold on to. Be sure to press the Glow Powder in well (from the back, so you don't get it all over your fingers!), to make sure you get the brightest color impact.
I die cut the wings from navy card stock, and then put liquid adhesive just on the centers, so that they stick up and can be "fluffed" a little.
I used the new Shining Light die to cut out the pretty starburst from blue card stock, and then slid a piece of glitter card stock in behind it, so it shows through the slats! That glitter catches the light and makes this card so sparkly!! I love that!
PRO TIP: That glitter card stock is precious, so cut your piece just large enough to cover all the slats! You don't want to waste any of it!

Next up is another new collection of products....I used the new Sitting Pretty and Accessories dies, to create this sweet porch scene. I started with the piece of aqua card stock in the back, and stamped some of the new Sunset Skies clouds on it. Then, I die cut the layers of greenery with the new A Side of Greens die, and used q-tips to blend some ink on the greenery in spots, to give it some dimension. Next, I layered on the greenery and porch panel with foam adhesive to give it some dimension and set it apart a bit, from the sky.
PRO TIP: If you choose to layer the greenery like I did here, be sure to scoot the back layer in and down just a bit, so it's more visible behind the porch panel!
Lastly, I added the potted plants. How cute are those?
As a fun bonus, keep an eye out on my Instagram this week, for several fun Reels videos that will give you a peek into my creative process on some of the cards I've made to share with you, including this one!! I tried to film as I was working on this release, so I could share some cute videos with you! In the case of this one, you'll get to see the pro tips I mentioned above, in action. Hope they're helpful to you and give you some more inspiration! I've got several videos I'll be sharing over there this week!
