Hey there! Welcome back for another day of The Greetery new release fun! I've got a fun group of cards to share with you today, so let's dig right in!
Just a note that I'll be sharing more process videos/Reels on Instagram today, if you want a bit more behind-the-scenes peek at the making of these cards!
And I'll be back here tomorrow too, with a bonus post for you, in case you'd like a bit more card inspo before you head over to do your Greetery shopping in the morning! I hope you'll join me here bright and early!
First up is a really pretty new Botanicuts set -- Hollyhocks! I paired it with a couple of the Plucked die cuts from last release.
We grew hollyhocks last year for the first time, and gosh, they're pretty! So I especially enjoyed being able to create my own little paper versions! Can't wait to make some more!
PRO TIP: Add fun shading to your die cut pieces before adhering them together! It adds a bit more realistic touch! If you don't have small detail blending brushes, try a q-tip or a paint brush! I used a blunt-tipped paint brush for these!
On the background, I wanted to add some interest but not have it be too distracting or busy. I used the Seed Catalog background stamp from the last release, but stamped it off quite a bit before stamping it on my card stock. It gives just a bit of a textured look, but nothing too busy! I didn't want the background to take even a bit of focus off of those gorgeous hollyhocks!
PRO TIP: One of the most fun parts of ink blending is being able to blend multiple colors on the same die cut, so when you're blending up green leaves, for instance, don't be afraid to pull out a second shade of green (or blue! or purple! as I've done here), to add a bit more depth to your green leaves. You can see the little Plucked die cut on the right has green and blue blended on, and the one on the left has green and a bit of purple!
PRO TIP: This one piggybacks on the tip I just shared. When reaching for those additional colors to blend on your leaves or anything else, reach for colors you've used elsewhere on the card. It helps everything look cohesive! This is a similar concept to what you would do when painting, but by choosing a purple that you're using elsewhere on the card, it adds some cohesion and helps the addition of the purple on the leaves to look complimentary because you've used it on the flowers, too. So your leaves look color compatible with your flowers. Make sense? Same with the blue I added to the leaves. If I'd grabbed a different blue, it might have not looked as cohesive as it does, because I used a blue that I'd used on the flowers, too.

This card is a special one for my man, who for whatever reason, is always fascinated with dragonflies! Couldn't wait to make card for him using the new Jumbo Curiosity: Dragonfly dies and stencil!
Again, I blended multiple colors on top of each other to create a MUCH more interesting dragonfly! I used the stencils to add purples to the dragonfly, and then went in again with the stencils in place, and added some blues just in a few spots.
The leafy frame is the new Leaves All Around die and stencils, and gosh, those make quick work of creating a really large, striking frame!
PRO TIP: When adding additional colors to these leaves, concentrate a second color (or just go much darker with the color you're using) right at the base of the leaves and stems. This allows the lighter color to be out at the tips of the leaves and creates some easy depth to your ink blending!
{love you supplies}

This card features that same Leaves All Around stencil & die set, but this time I die cut it from colored card stock. I love how this allows it to blend in to the background of the card a bit more, letting the sentiment really pop!
I went ombré on the "just a note" by inking two different colors of ink, and then tapping a blending brush over the 'seam' where the two inks met, before stamping it on the paper. Smooth ombré that way!
A few enamel dots add even more dimension to finish this one off!
