Hey, Friends! Welcome, welcome! Come on in, get comfy, put your feet up and maybe grab a cup of something warm and cozy because it's time to share the new Have a Heart Collection coming TOMORROW to The Greetery, so I've got lots of fun goodies to tell you about! I LOVE creating for Valentine's Day because I can use allllll the pink and red I want, and nobody even thinks twice about it! Hahaha!
To start things off, let me tell you about these super cute chocolate bar wraps and gift tags I created!
PRO TIP: These would be so "sweet!" to give to your besties, your coworkers, the kiddos in your Sunday school class or maybe even your mail lady or favorite checker at the store! There are lots of people you could bless with a cute little sweet treat like this for Valentine's Day! They're fun to make and the gift is super affordable because it's just a chocolate bar! Get one as fancy or as not-fancy as you want! You could even buy a bulk box of candy bars at Sam's or even on Amazon and then assembly-line a whole delicious pile of them!
Here are the pair of them together....aren't they fun?!
Let's talk about the gift tags first! Now, keep in mind that you could make this same gift tag and put it on a wrapped gift, hang it on a gift bag or even tie one on to your kiddo's Valentine treat basket, if you give them something like that!
I used the new Round About Hearts die to make the tag. I stacked three of those die cuts up, and backed them with one of the Crimped Circle dies and then added that DARLING "Love you" sentiment from the new Hot Stuff Sentiments set. So darn cute!
PRO TIP: That Crimped Circle Die is the same diameter as the outside circle of the Round About dies, so it's super easy to glue it to the tag or sandwich it in between several! If you bought the Crimped Circles back when they came out, pull them out and use them again! That die is perfect here!
Lastly, I used the fun new Tear Strip Tags Valentine stamps with the previously released Tear Strip Tags die to add a couple long, skinny tags to top it off! So fun!
PRO TIP: Tying on multiple tags, such as the three I've added to the chocolate bars here, makes the wrapping extra fun and sort of interactive because there's additional movement from them all. Plus, the recipient can lift the top tag to reveal the to/from info on the tag underneath! Multiple tags are a great way to up the fun factor on your gift wrapping!
For the wrap around the chocolate bar, I used one of the new paper rolls (light pink) along with the previously released white and red paper rolls. I die cut the pink layer with the new Falling Hearts Background Die! Then, I cut the strip of white roll paper to the same width to fit my chocolate bar, and then layered it behind the pink so those hearts really show up well without the chocolate bar wrapper peeking through and distracting from their shapes.
On top of that, I used the new Ribbon Maker Heart Strip die to cut out the red layer. So simple and fun and really cute!
So here's the other chocolate bar. I used a lot of the same elements but changed up the sentiments and color layers.
I LOVE the Tear Strip Tags, because you cut out four tags at once, and then thanks to the clever design of the stamps, you stamp all four at once, as well! Several different stamp options are included, but each one lets you make four different tags quickly and easily!
This time, for the wrapper, I used the new Ribbon Maker Scalloped Hearts Die to cut out the pink layer. How cute are those scalloped edges?! I layered that strip over some of the red rolled paper and topped with ribbon.
PRO TIP: I'm guessing that if you've been crafting for a long time like I have, you probably have some sort of ribbon stash tucked away somewhere! Now is the perfect time to dig into it and pull out some ribbon to tie around the chocolate bar to finish off, and it gives you a cute spot to tie on your gift tag, as well! Don't hoard that ribbon forever! Use it! It feels good! And the best part of using up your supplies, is that it gives you a reason to buy something else cute when it comes along, and you won't feel the least bit guilty about it! Hahaha!
Next up, I made a cute card for my love for Valentine's Day and couldn't resist the "knitted" heart sweater!
PRO TIP: Here's the thing. It's a Valentine's Day card. It's MEANT to be mushy and lovey! Haha! I feel zero pressure to make a mushy love card look manly and masculine, just because I'm giving it to a man! If you're feeling stuck with having to make guy cards always look GUY-ish, I say shake that off! It's not like it's a guy birthday card....I can totally see wanting to make that manly for your man. But with a lovey-dovey card, I think you can make it pink and red and all-things-hearts and he's probably not gonna care one bit that you didn't put a fish or a race car or something on it! LOL! Just tryin' to help, friends! :)
So, I used another of those super cute Hot Stuff Sentiments stamps for the "Hey, Cutie". I also used a couple red inks to make it a bit ombré. Then, I added the "wool you be mine?" from the new Hearts at Home Sentiments set. SO many cute options in that set, some are punny and some are not and they all coordinate with the cute new Hearts at Home dies -- including the Hearts at Home Sweater Die.
I mean, that hanger made me want to use the sweater set, more than anything!!! How stinkin' cute is that?! I die cut it from my favorite glitter card stock because who doesn't want a sparkly hanger for their heart sweater! Best part is, those little hearts that are cut out of the hanger can be used, too!
Oh, and of course if I'd only put one hanger on the card, with the sweater on it, you wouldn't have been able to see the hanger in all its glory! So I absolutely put a second hanger on the card, just because it's too cute not to! LOL!
PRO TIP: Position the second hanger sort of like it's in the non-existent hand, rather than just floating randomly on the card! Haha!
I layered the sweater on one of the Crimped Circle Tags dies from last month and then on the background, I used that cute new Falling Hearts Background Die again....this time layering a soft warm pink on top of red card stock.
Lastly, I used the new Ribbon Maker dies to dress up a plain gift bag and made a really fun gift tag to go with!
First up, let's talk about the tag. How fun is this?!! For the tag itself, I used the new Hearts Arrow Die and Hearts Arrow Hot Foil!
I foiled the heart and then die cut it from pink card stock. You could totally leave the inside of the heart plain, but I decided to step it up some!
I die cut another heart from the same pink card stock and then ran it through again with the Falling Hearts Background die! Then, I cut out another red heart and popped it behind the pink falling hearts layer and put the whole thing on top of my tag!
PRO TIP: Don't forget that background dies don't JUST work on cards! I've shown you today, how to use it on a card, a chocolate bar wrap AND how to dress up the center of a tag, all with the same background die! It's a super versatile tool!
In the case of my tag, I just snipped the outer border off to create the pink and red layers for the center. It's easy to do, right over where the arrow point and end almost meet up! One simple snip and you can change the color of the outer border or the center like I did here.
A closer look at the bottom of the bag.....again I used both new Ribbon Maker dies here and I love how the two reds layered together look! The back layer is the red rolled paper and the front red is card stock! The white is the white roll paper.
And the whole happy family all together!
