Hi there, Friends! The Greetery has a gorgeous new Fall collection called Harvest Fest, launching on Wednesday and I've got lots of projects to show you! Let's dive right in with the new To Pie For die set.....I chose to make a paper version of my favorite holiday pie -- pumpkin!
I die cut the pie base from orange card stock. I then die cut the pie top and took the negative die cut bits that pop out when you die cut the topper, and wove them into the top to create a basketweave effect.
I die cut the pieces from kraft card stock and then blended some brown ink on the pieces before weaving them together.
PRO TIP: Don't worry about your ink blending being perfectly even! It makes for a slightly more realistic pie crust look, if the blending is not all exactly the same!
I also die cut some leaves from the same set, and blended a bit of ink on to give those some golden color, as well.
Behind the pie, I stamped a few images from a new set you'll hear more about tomorrow! I used ink the same color as the card stock, so that it just created a subtle shadow effect. Nothing too distracting from the pie, but still a little something to accent the pie.
I stamped a few leaf stems at the top and bottom "corners" of the pie, to accent the pie crust leaves a little.
I topped the pie crust leaves with some little chocolate squares from the new Apple Sauce Bits set that's releasing this week, too! I don't know if chocolate and pumpkin are a thing in real life, but gosh, these look cute as an accent on my pie!! Haha!!
The sentiment is from the new Fall Foodie Phrases stamp set....how fun is that sentiment? :)

Next up, I used the new Caramel Apple Die to create my fun little caramel apple here, as well as the new Cinnamon Sticks Die!
The sentiment is from the newest Tear Strip Tags addition -- Halloween!
I die cut the pieces of my apple and did a bit of ink blending on each piece before assembling my caramel apple.
I used the new Nutty Bits to add some "nuts" to the bottom of my caramel apple!
PRO TIP: If you've ever wondered how to get things like those little nuts to stick to your card front, I just squeezed some liquid glue along the bottom of the apple, poured the nutty bits on top and gave them all a press with my finger, into the glue. Then, gently turn it over and shake off any excess and when I laid it back down, I gave the remaining nuts another press with my finger and that's it.
Now, this isn't a card I would mail. It would probably be wisest to hand deliver something like this, just so those nuts don't all fall off in the mail, but it's super fun and adds a realistic touch!
I layered the whole caramel apple on one of the die cut pie toppers and then glued the pie base onto the top of the....top. LOL. It serves as a great base for literally anything and you'd never know it was a pie die cut!!! Talk about more bang for your buck!
Along the bottom of the card front, I added a die cut strip that I cut with the Ribbon Maker: Large Scallops die. Such a pretty little festive detail!

For this card, I used the new Jumbo Curiosity Acorns Die and cut out lots of acorns! I blended ink on each one.
PRO TIP: When ink blending, you can add more shading toward the bottom of the acorn, or even just under the acorn "hat", where it would naturally be a bit more shadowed by the top.
For the sentiment, I used the new Thanks All Ways stamp set and dies. I layered it on a circle that I cut with the older Hoop & Fringe Die.
PRO TIP: Add a bit of a drop shadow to your die cut sentiments to help them stand out from a busy background! Here, I just die cut an extra Thanksgiving sentiment from white card stock and layered it behind the stamped word.
I added a layer of white card stock to the card front, that I die cut with the new Herringbone Parquet Die and then on top of that, adhered all my acorns.
Once they were all glued in place, I trimmed all four sides, cutting off all the excess bits of acorn that were sticking out.
