Hey, friends! It's my turn to share a project for The Greetery, so I've got a fun and easy project for you today!
I thoroughly enjoy making gift tags every year for Christmas.....piles and piles of them, because it makes it so fun when it comes time to wrap everything, to have a great big assortment of gift tags and gift toppers to choose from! After all, dressing up those wrapped packages is the most fun part!!
For today, I used the Plaid Tidings: Very Merry product assortment to make some really simple gift tags or package toppers! Use them as decoration and add another little gift tag with them to write the to/from info on, or simply write it on the back of these. These will also be darling hanging on a gift bag handle! Such a fun and yet simple way to dress up a basic gift bag! Simply add a bow and some colored tissue paper and you're all set!
For the solid colored ones, I just die cut the sentiment letters from a few different colors of card stock and then mixed them up on each of the three tags. Easy peasy! Seriously, if you've got kiddos or even grandies, this would be a really fun and simple project to sit down and let them make! It's just glue and card stock!
For the pink and red ones, I used the stencils and gosh, was this FUN! Don't be intimidated about stenciling on the letters! It couldn't be easier! Simply stencil a piece of white card stock in whatever colors you want, and then cut all the letters out with one pass through the die cutting machine!
PRO TIP: Notice that I made each of the plaids a bit different, from simple stripes to a plaid to a more busy plaid. Use as many or as few stencils as you want, to create the look you prefer. If you're in a hurry, simply go with the stripes because it's less stenciling!
PRO TIP: Once you've got your letters cut out -- regardless of whether they're plain or stenciled -- use the Press 'n Seal trick to glue them to the base layer! Before you pop them out of the die cut, stick them with Press 'n Seal and then carefully remove the die cut negative. Add your adhesive to the back and then lay all the letters down on your die cut base all at once! SO much faster than gluing the letters one at a time. (Although, if it's pint-sized littles you're trying to entertain, I highly recommend having them glue the letters one by one! Hahaha! I'm here for you with all sorts of PRO TIPS!)
I couldn't resist finishing off my gift toppers with some tiny holly, but you could dress them up with sequins or florals or anything else you have on hand!
Hope this has inspired you to do some tag making today!
