Hello, Friends! It's that glorious time of year when The Greetery launches its Christmas collection and I think you are going to love what we have to show you today and tomorrow! Not only are there holiday items, but there are also a few things that can be used in different applications year round. Let's dig in, shall we?
First up, I made a book card! I mean, it's a card but it's also a little book! Well, a two-page book, anyway! Haha!
For the cover, I used the new Have a Spine Dies to create the base of the card. I cut out the paper edge detail at the bottom, from gold card stock, and then used a variety of stamps on the cover. The Bookish Holiday Frames set was used to create the rectangle frame on the green layer, as well as the oval frame layer. I also cut a hole in the cover, with the inside portion of that oval frame die.
I added a couple of stamps from the new Christmas Story stamp set, for the spine and "book title".
And then the "Joy to the world" was created with the new Scripted Holiday Sentiments stamps and die.
PRO TIP: A super thin strip of glitter card stock was added over by the title stamps on the spine of the book. This does a couple things. Firstly, it draws the eye over to those stamped text details. And secondly, it's Christmas!! If ever there was a time to bust out the glitter accents, it's now! Even that super thin strip can add just the right touch of sparkle for a bit of festive cheer, without being too over the top or detracting from anything else on your card's design!
The book pages cut from gold card stock are another fun touch that punches up the "pretty factor" quite a bit!
Inside the card...er, book....I stamped the Bible text stamp from The Christmas Story, as well as the Luke 2 title detail up at the top.
PRO TIP: Notice over on the left, that The Christmas Story title is suspended in the opening of the card front, by sandwiching a piece of clear acetate between two of those "The Christmas Story" die cuts.
And on the back "page" of my book/card is another large sentiment from the new Scripted Holiday Sentiments. This is where I can write a note to the recipient.
This photo shows you the pages inside the book, so hopefully that gives you a better visual of the whole book.

Next up is what is my favorite set of this collection.....Winter Crest! I created the large crest floral die cut with stamps and stencil, and then layered an aqua Crest No. 2 die cut on top.
The Noel sentiment is part of the set, and I stamped the top layer and then die cut a second from gold glitter card stock, and used that for a drop shadow effect.
Behind the florals, I added some die cuts made with a new set you'll see more about tomorrow!
For the banner at the bottom (also part of Winter Crest), I did another drop shadow with gold glitter card stock.
PRO TIP: See what I mean about the sparkle? I just used that glitter card stock in two very small spots here, but it has a big impact in making the card more interesting and a bit more colorful! It also gives it more of a festive, holiday feel!
On the background, I used that fun new Pierced Plaid texture die from last month's release.

One more for today! For those of you who love to build little scenes, you're going to love these goodies and all the options they provide!
I started out with the new Warm & Cozy stamps, dies and sentiment and used those to create the chair and all its details. There are additional dies for the chair that will allow you to really layer up the cushions on the chair itself, however I chose to keep it more simple and show you how you can just use the main body of the chair. I did some fun ink blending and then fluffed the wingback "wings" forward a bit, for some dimension.
Lastly, I added the doily and pillows.
Then, I used the Fireside dies to create the cozy fireplace scene. I did some ink blending on the flames of fire, the stockings and even the tile fireplace surround. I wanted it to have a bit of an antique fireplace feel with the green tile!
PRO TIP: If you've got some red glitter card stock, the berries from Rosemary & Berry (more about it tomorrow) can be die cut and used as an accent on nearly everything! I used them here, on the garland on the fireplace, to accent the garland sprigs from the Fireside die collection.
Here's today's grouping....
