Happy New Year, friends! Hard to believe it's January already, but here we are. It's time for another TGIF post for The Greetery. I always have a need for thank you cards after Christmas, so this year I thought I'd make some with a cheery, wintery feel. To do this, I pulled out the Banner & Bough stamps, stencils and dies, as well as the new Nordic Birds. Love how well they work together!
For this one, I started out by stenciling and stamping the lush floral spray.
PRO TIP: The set doesn't include thank you sentiments, but not to worry. You can pull from your stash and just bend them on your stamp block, to match the curve of the banners! In this case, I used two sentiments from Sentiment Suite: Thank You.
I die cut the bird from white card stock and blended on the ink, making sure to darken it at the bottom of the bird where it would be more in shadow, as well as the bottom of the wing. I layered the whole thing on a blue base that was impressed with the Pierced Plaid die and tucked in a few sprigs of die cuts made with the Pine Wisp dies.
I made this one much the same as the first, with a few small changes. For the background, I layered the focal point on some darker blue card stock and peeking out behind that, are some scallops cut out with an A2 Stitched Scallops die.
PRO TIP: I think when we see a die like that stitched scallop die, it's easy to feel like we need to leave room for the entire scalloped border to show all the way around. But remember that even when part of those scallops are peeking out, they're still making an impact. It's just a bit more subtle this way. I love the pop of color and detail it adds, without being an overly frilly card!
