Hello, friends! It's new release time at The Greetery and today, we're introducing the new Star Spangled Summer Collection! But, lest you think it's only for patriotic themed cards, rest assured that some of the items can definitely be used year-round! Let's dive right in to the fun stuff!
So for this first card, I used several new items together starting with the Grand Finale die & stencil to create the background layer. After die cutting the panel, I used the stencil to add some color for the fireworks and then layered a piece of silver glitter card stock behind, to show through the fireworks die cuts!
I also used the little rocket dies and stencil from Grand Finale, to add the little rockets. I also added a few little silver stars here and there, using the new Star Stream die.
And now, we have to talk about that darling bow because oh my word, it's cute! AND, even better, it's literally so easy to put together! I simply die cut the base layers from white card stock, the star layer from blue card stock and the striped layers from two different colors of red card stock. You just glue them together and voila!
PRO TIP: You could glue a little girls' hair clip to the back of the bow, to create a quickie little hair accessory, or glue a pin/broach backing to the back and bam! You've got a simple but festive pin to add to a jacket or hat or overalls or whatever, for the 4th of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day, etc!
PRO TIP: OH, and I just had another thought....you could also use this bow as a gift topper on a wrapped package or to accent a gift bag! It would totally dress up a plain kraft bag for any patriotic holiday gift!

Ok, so this card features several more new items and once again, I'm amazed at the brilliant designs that Betsy comes up with! That flag....! That was created with the Wave the Flag Border Die and once again, it's so simple! Just die cut the elements from red, white and blue card stocks, glue them together and you've got the main focal point for a really striking card!
I also used the new Star Stream 3D embossing folder for the white background. I also used the companion Star Stream die to cut out the silver star, then ran it through the die cutting machine in the 3D embossing folder (you can see a bit of the trim detail on the star, that was embossed into it) and I placed it right over the top of the star on the white layer.
This sentiment is another from the new Land of Liberty sentiment set.

And as promised, a girly birthday card using some of the same elements, just in a different way!
I used the Star Stream die to cut the details into the white layer. Then, I used the new Star Stream Hot Foil plate, to add silver stars to another layer of white card stock. I layered that one behind the die cut layer, so the silver stars show through the die cut holes.
Then, I used the Star Stream stencils to add colors to my front panel. I also die cut another piece of card stock with the Star Stream die -- orange this time -- and just used the star portion, which I then embossed with the 3D embossing folder, before popping it on the card front.
The sentiments are both from the new Star Stream Sentiments, which allow to use some of these new goodies for many different occasions.....encouragement, new baby, birthday, etc.
PRO TIP: For the happy birthday banner, I just took a strip of card stock and stamped the sentiment and then cut a bunch of little strips with paper snips. I roughed them up with my finger and it added a bit of a festive, party favor type feel! Sometimes, those simple little touches can really add more than you think!
